I was just talking about the imbalance of wear between front and rear on smaller engined bikes...normally end up with a front that's been taken to the edges, but a rear that's not nearly as impressively farqued...maybe if you're on the Coro coast road every day you can get the rear stuffed, dunno.Originally Posted by aff-man

I think it depends on compound as well and how worn the tyres are. My fronts get wasted while my rear has small pricks in it like the fronts 2 months ago. Might start shredding soon.Originally Posted by Toast
edit: had to help the boss do something.
I think Gareth had some gpr70's on his on the same ride and we were both pushing hard. His tyres shred mine just pinpricked... His were worn a fair amount more though.

If you really push it tho you will get past the tyre and start grinding your exhaust.
(the screws are there because I have to repack the cans alot) (and i did clean my bike but then it rained) (oh and cans probably got scratched when the shocks had decided they were too hot making them pogo thru corners, but hey, brian bernard was following me so I had to at least try and make it seem like I wasnt super slow)
dont break your cake
Correct proceedure of leaning a bike should look like this
Ive also got dent marks and scrapes on my header pipe (just before the muffler) and almost succeeded in putting a hole in my muffler... I wont even mention how fucked the fairings are...
See Robert Taylor for any Ohlins requirements www.northwest.co.nzThanks Colemans SuzukiThanks AMCCI use DID Chains and Akrapovic Exhausts
Just a question about leaning to the racers here - on my zxr with its cruddy tyres, you can only lean over so far before pegs scrape and you are on the edge of the tyre (then things get slidey slidey :/), from what I see, 'other' bikes eg that pic TS just posted can get over much more. Is there much variation in tyre type for 250's like mine (140/60 and 120/60-70) so they can be leant more than currently able to. Different pegs would also have to be an option as well.
What I'm thinking is that different tyres may solve this problem or is that just 'it'?
Cheers!
Depends on the steepness of the profile, im running 160/60 and 120/70 on the 400, and i have to say i still have chicken strips (about 5 mm) but im grinding everything whilst at the lean angle...Originally Posted by tristank
If you have chicken strips you can lean more, and when you start grinding, you modify it...

dunno mate my bikes so old your tyres sound huge!!
I was having fun been a blow ars and TS comes and spoils itstill my bike isnt a nice little lite bike in race trim, so I can keep some of my dignity

Here is a serious lean angle, Akira Yana(whats it, god knows how to spell it) the Jap fella that rode for Kawasaki in the world superbikes anyhow.
and Regis Laconi at Jerez 04 Moto-GP

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
my own fault really.
Will these do?
