Question Electric Grinder: Please can you help, I need to borrow one - 4/11/05

Gals and guys out in either West Auckland, Central Auckland or North Shore.

Does one of you happen to have a electric grinder I could borrow sometime maybe this weekend.

I have been given a metal shed and the roof needs a slight trim to remove a bit of the rust on the outside edges. At the moment the shed is lying in my backyard... and so the roof is easy to work on.

The length is 2.26 metres long or 7' 5" long.
I think either one or both sides need trimming.

Now either you could pop over to my place and do it or you could lend me the machine and I can do it. I don't think it will take too long to do this job.

I have a 30 metre Heavy industrial cord, safety switch, googles and earmuffs.
So you would only need to bring/lend the grinder.

Plenty of space to park your bike as well.

PM me if you can help me out.

    Thanks.

You are not meant to cut that stuff with an abrasive blade.

It leaves a raw edge and the sparks of hot molten metal burn into and damage the surface protection and finish.

Tin snips, nibbler or any mechanism that shears is preferred as this seals the edge as it cuts.

That said I have been known to use a dimond concrete cutting blade on a chainsaw to cut it in the past. Lots of fun.

I have a set of big snips here if you like.
I aslo have a grinder, but mine is only 4 inches, it would be easier and more enjoyable if someone else has a 9" one you could use.

    Cool

CaN - Thanks for the offer - I will PM you if no one else can help me out.

XTC - Yep Franklin is a tad far away mate, but thanks for your offer.

Dadpole - Mind out of the gutter...

Winja - There is no "Bunning's" out in West Auckland.

And now back to the topic of finding a electric grinder.
