That was my first time I've seen harris as well. I was sitting there with the Manfield crew when Harris pulled up and let rip. He was way out of order and in the wrong. Understandable why people would have thought quite lowly of him. Unfortunate for the guys doing Brians skills class that day. Good entertainment for spectators though.

    Frustration's and Safety

Dafe! Hi, Sorry you got to see the serious side of me mate.

Manfeild test days are just that., TEST DAY"S not a private tuition day

Here is the full true scenario, Manfeild hires out there track for private tuition, ( You were having privte tuition this day!)

I was there with a first time racer on a SV 650 who was even being held up due to road riders being trained at this test session, on many accasions I went to pass one of your group only to disscover that the rider had decided to change the line he was on. You guy's were riding around using road rider lines which do not work at a race track, and made it very dangerous for us to try and pass safely,( More your safety than our's, I could easily have passed one or all of you up the inside on many occasion's, and probally put the fare of God up ya, potentually causing you guy's to crash! I may be hard, but would never be a part of causing such a Disaster.

This is a very dangerous scenario to be a part of.

I have 19 years of race track experience, and believe me, very strange accidents can happen at a race track when different disciplins are trying to work together

I know it takes fast and slower riders to make a grid, I was a slow rider once!

I know you guy's were all very compitent riders, but this day was for testing purposes not a private training session. Most trainers would hire a track privately, as Red Riders do and as I do when I charge people for tuition, there is a major safety issue involved here, add potentually O.S.H! Then where would we all be?????

So Dafe, again sorry to have shown you my serious side, but when people are -uckin with my safety and another racers(17 YRS OLD) I do get a bit fired up. I love racing bikes and am very passionate about it.

Dafe, if you and your mates want a propoer training session at a private training day, I will give one day of my time @ F.O.C if you guy's are prepared to part with the cash to pay for the track to make this safe for all concerned?
    Balls in your court dude.

Enjoy your riding, and a least come and say hi, so you can make up your own mind about me.

Thanks to all who spoke on my behalf here.

Shaun has a more than fair enough point here, and if i was in his shoes i too would get a little angered about it all, test days are for racers, being out on the track at the same time as someone like Shaun is eye opening to say the least but dangerous for both riders, it's best saved to proper track days where you can be grouped accordingly to your skill. There are no groups at these test days and it can end up being too crowded for the guys like Shaun to do what they have to do, it's not like they can rip it down a country backroad to dial in the rear on there race bike (correct me if i'm wrong Shaun ) and track time is limited and precious to these guys, it's not like the track is open all the time for their convience.

Shaun does indeed have a fair point however as long as the track management are happy to take anyones money and let them out on those days then the issue is with track management and their hire procedure and it should be taken up with them

    Arrow Shaun is all good.

For all you doing the slagging, have you ever had a bad day or been under stress. If the answer is no, then your fulla shit. All I see here is some riders slagging off a better rider, who, if you ask anyone who actually knows him or has met him, sure don't deserve this shit.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

Thanks for your point of view Shaun.

I really appreciate you not carving up on the insides and scaring the shit out of everybody.
My understanding was that Manfield was holding a testing day.
Our first circuit was based around getting a feel of the track. After that we all adjusted our suspensions to harden set them up for the track, which we tested on the second run. Co-incidently, shitloads better than previously.
The last three runs we we're constantly trying to achieve the racelines, perhaps we were not doing so well.
Personally I didn't have any problem with you, it was seeing how upset you'd made our other riders after abusing one of them in particular.
I think it's very decent of you for apologising and I hope you'll accept my apology for any harsh comments I've made in this post.
I wouldn't have expected you to front up with an apology as I'd pictured you as a different sort of person after the trackday. Obviously I'm mistaken.
I've never learnt so much in a day about motorcycling, it was infact a fantastic day in all. You'll be pleased to know that although some of the riders were upset with you, BB didn't have a single bad word to say about you, which in my eyes speaks professionalism of the top level. His one comment of you was that you are a very good rider.
Shaun, you should just come over next time and introduce yourself, the guys would love to have met you on the day and Brian would only approve. If you'd asked, I'm sure the guys would have done all they could to keep wide and towards the outsides when you're approaching.
Your young fella is freaking fast! He was carving it up real nice. The guys were very impressed.
thanks for the offer on your training day, you just never know.
I guess at the end of the day, we we're on the track to cane it the best we could, I don't think personal training days would be affordable for your average Joe Bloggs. For many of us, it's the test day or zip. The problem comes down to the varying rider levels once again. I can't see a solution for it, not unless Manfield dropped their hirage rate for training classes and I can't see that happening.

Thanks for responding your point of view Shaun.

Top competitors in any sport need to have absolute confidence in their own ability. Lesser mortals sometimes perceive this as arrogance.

Look at it from Harris' point of view, he goes to considerable expense, takes a day off, travels hours, and has definite goals but can't achieve them because the track is full of mobile chicanes. I'd be pissed off too.

I understand that the other riders may have also gone to similar inconvenience and expense to him, but he may not have understand that at the time. Maybe that's where the "red head" bit cut in...

Bad business practice to alienate a bunch of prospective customers though.

    Hi

Good point Dafe, ( The one about me coming over and having a word) sometimes I am so focused and to single minded when it comes to race tracks that it tends to end up with me pissing people of, but that's ok, I've got years left in me yet to grow up and become mature
