Small and dangerous with a sting in my tail!!
gets me thinking about what could be done to rectify this.Originally Posted by aff-man
1.whats simply seen and would get attraction from everyone nearish even if you were hard to be seen, ie hiddden in a bush
2.and how would you set it off
maybe a smoke marker, bright day glo orange style of thing, that goes off when the bike is on its side and the front wheel aint spinning?
hope all comes well soon and your not out of pocket after the experience. Get well dude!
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
Firstly - Myvice - glad to hear you are going to be alright, sounds like you had a close call there!
sAsLEX - That sounds like a good idea, wonder what it would take to get it put into production?
And Scorpy/Ixion - I've gotta recipie for ya, and its nice and easy. Simply boil the Pukeko with a rock in the pot, wait until the rock goes soft, then chuck out the bird and eat the rock. And that would be about as tender a meal as you'll get from a Pukeko.
not too much, a simple mecury switch or something could detect the fallen on side thing and have a simple counter to count for 30 odd secs in case of a simple driveway drop, and then finding a smoke thingo that could be set off with a small electric signalOriginally Posted by WRT
dont really know how effective it would be in real world though, was just a thought
Wouldn't a safety tether be easier to implement?Originally Posted by sAsLEX
It could act as both a kill switch, and would allow, after a suitable delay for a smoke marker to be released.
Never met you Myvice but glad to hear you're alright all the same.
Smoke flare sounds like a good idea but how hot do they burn? You wouldn't want it going off if your gas tank had ruptured or if you had landed amongst some dry scrub. (That is if they would cause a problem).
Glad to hear you're doing well Karl - I was the one who was lucky enough to ride ya bike back and she did behave !! thanks to the KB's who escorted me knowing it was only my fourth time on the road. and really nervous .. I did give you a bit of a hard time whilst holding you up while Mac was doing such a great job taking care of you - even in your state of discomfort and groggeyness you were still able to make us laugh !!! Look forward to riding with you again and I intend on STAYING 2up next time ok !!
boring old school technology! but yes an option the time delay could be linked to a siren/horn so when you unplug at a petrol station you have say 30 secs to get it back on!Originally Posted by Mr Skid

You can get chemical signal nowdays that don't actually burn...
Hahahaha just a thought you could have a flouro paint bomb strapped on the bike somewhere.... make a hell of a mess but you would be seen.
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...
[QUOTE=aff-man]
The worse part of it was if alex hadn't been following ya..... neither you nor the bike were visable from the road......had to hike a fair way to find you in that nice soft bed you landed in.![]()
I'm thinking about getting an emergency radio beacon thats used in flying boating tramping and carrying it with me on the bike or maybe on me They are $300-350
