    Lightbulb How much moolah?

I'm looking at changing income provider in the next little while and one of the things I'm finding difficult is getting info on wage/salary comparisons. ie. How much I'm earning vs industry standard. I've looked around and all I can seem to find is pay sites that offer only a very broad hint at a comparisson. Anyone got any help on this?

Given the amount of raping and pillaging Vikings do, YOU should be paying THEM......

go sack a village somewhere. any spare comely maidens, sling them my way...

in answer to your question though, a "no obligations" visit to one of those HR sharks might be in order. If they any good they will know what the going rate is.

if you know someone in the industry, try asking them (dont be surprised to get the PFO look though...)

What line are you in colapop? If youre an engineering type, IPENZ have a lot of info available.

There must be an HR bod on KB somewhere too.

    I'd turn the proposition around.

What do YOU want? Go looking for that and don't settle for anything else unless there is some urgency to your departure (in which case, look for a repeat of what you have).

Sure find out what's out there - there may be a big jump in income, and if so you'd be a mug not to chase that... but don;t be discouraged if the numbers you get back don't meet your current income.

It's not urgent (the departure) but it is something I'd like to know.

That's spooky... I'm a draughtsman - yes MAN no PC sh*t here. The only thing is that it's difficult to get a comparrison coz it's one of those taboo subjects. I mean, if went to someone and asked them what they earned, it'd be like me asking what their sexual preferences are. I don't really give a sh*t but most people get real angsty about tit.
