what is the opinion of the officers on here, re: civilian help when they are fighting a scumbag and getting a hiding?.. would we be able to assist or would we be booked for assault afterwards?

i jumped in one night to help an American cop outside a bar.. he had pepper sprayed this douchebag and they guy kept fighting..he was obviously outmatched. i jumped in and helped subdue this guy and got cuffed for " interfearing with an officer.. blah blah.."

It does have the usual one-way-street of justice about it... Anyone can be charged with interfering with an officer, but if you help one - zilch.
We need to get rep points added to our records!!! Get a discount on your next speeding fine if you are in credit perhaps???

Fair call. The majority of people on the thread that you're probably referring to advocated against doing a runner so I'd hope that any one scrutinising these threads would view them objectively, ie. allow for the nutters, braggers, jokers, venters etc. [edit - not that i'd accuse any posters of being in these categories ]

It was 900 Marty, as you well know. The MOT never had 2000 cops. They never had competitions to get the highest ticket values either.
They never ran into bikes to stop them, then make up ficticious dangerous charges to cover their arses either.

You know last year more pedrestians were killed on the motorway than people in/on motor vehicles.
