I've got my big baby back!!

    Yeeharrrr!!

Got home last night around 7.40pm. Message on the voicemail. It was Wayne, my mechanic at Motomart. "We managed to source a 1000SS ECU that we can use as a stop-gap, it's in your bike, your bike is now running on two cylinders again"

    Woohoo!!

Rang Wayne, and he very kindly brought my baby back home to me straight away. Shit, it sounded great coming up the road - I was out on the deck waiting and heard it from about a km away coming up the hill.

All I need now is a fine weekend and I might get that first long ride completed on the 1000!!

The Monster ECU is still on order from Italy, it's another few weeks away, but hey, I've got my baby back, and she's well!! It's only a matter of a few minutes to swap the units when the Monster unit arrives.

Thanks Motomart for getting me back on the road so soon.

Wicked, I love stories with a happy ending :confused2
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

You mean that Ducatis break down!!! You've got to love bike electrics. Good to hear the big Duck is mobile again.

I may of missed the post somewher, but what happened to he original one fitted. (crap out or is this a update?) Just enquiring as I will start weighing up my options of next bike soon and though Yamaha is at the top of the list I do like the Ducati Monsters.

Yeah, there is another post but the long and the short of it is that the ECU crapped out (4 months old bike, 2500kms). Very unusual, just the luck of the draw - a bit like a light bulb that most last forever, but sometimes they blow after a night or two.

Manuboy: yes, I have a very good relationship with my mechanic (he puts things on the service worksheets like "test rode to check it all out, what a beautiful bike" - isn't that neat!!)

I'm off to the top of the hill tonight after work.
