How dumb are you, or were you?

What's the most retarded bike related thing you've done? You know, forgotten to switch to reserve (oops, I did that!), forgotten to put the side stand down, left the park lights on all night, locked your keys under the pillion seat.......

Spill it folks, I want to see who is more of a dumb shit than me..............theres gotta be someone............surely.......please?????

When i was about 18 on an old GS 550 a car pulled out in front of me just before a corner. I comfortably swerved around him ( 4 wheel drive). Being all cool, i turned and gave him the finger, missed the corner and went through the fibrolite fence of an old peoples home. The Cops turned up and just stood there laughing. Quite humilating really. Beat that

started riding with my lock in the wheel... damn fell down but no scratch...

ohhh another time, actually rode the bike WITH the lock in the spokes...until i saw my reflection in a show window and realised the orange thing on my wheel is a damn lock... actually taught me how to lock the bike - and then the top happened

Ditto - but at traffic lights - and on Christmas Day!

So, The Dover, when are you going to tell us what dumb shit you've done?
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

    yep done that...
but the funniest thing happened to a mate of mine.
Said mate had just got new hard paniers put on the bike, thought they looked very cool. Had finally convinced partner to go the back of the bike with them for a trip away. Had to stop for petrol and didn't think much of diving between the bowsers to get to the other side....damn bad idea with new hard paniers that make bike twice as wide... shit! is probably the least of the words that got said that day.

said mate and partner are no longer together...i do wonder if that was in any way a contributing factor

and nope wasn't me... I'd never have those bloody ugly hard paniers on anything i ride

Just imagine how pretty the Buell will look though

Had the Blackbird 3 days. Pulled up outside mate's house with mate in full view, caught boot on something in the road just as I was stopping, leg went backwards and over went the bike. I stayed underneath it to prevent damage. Smart move (not) , popped a rib, got trapped and mate had to lift bike while crying with laughter and $500 worth of respray to fix the scratches.

There are others, but further back in history....

I was chasing one of the local bikies off at the Royal rd exit, he just missed the gravel patch at the intersection - I didn't. The bike low-sided, did a 360 spin on the crash bars. I stood up, bowed to the cars stopped at the intersection, got back on with as much dignity as I could muster and rode into the sunset.

I couldn't start my first bike at all after it had been sitting for a week. At this point I didn't have a liscence or know what a "choke" was.

Trailer my bike to Frosty's for him to tell me that I needed to replace a fuse

After pulling the carbs out of my bike to give them a good clean, then getting them back in and all of the fairings back in place I tryed to start the bike.

It just wouldn't fire, I checked the fuel tap...all good...so I figured I've forgotten to re-attach a hose or something, pull the bike to bits again and everything looks ok...now I've got no idea what I've done. I pull the carbs out and strip them again and everything looks ok, put the carbs back together and then fit them to the bike again...I try to start the bike again (with the fuel tank balancing carefully) and then realise the kill switch is off
