Let me tell you though...yesterday it was about 5km's not far enough!

*blushing* when I picked up the bike on Thursday afternoon Mike said "I've put a full tank of gas in for you girl* yay! I thought to myself, I took a long ride Thursday night and went to Warkworth yesterday. I had just finished impressing hubby with my cornering when putt, putt, putt, slowing down...
I lent down to switch to reserve...uh oh...it was already on reserve! Boys at bike shop must have played a trick :-( I never thought to check it was not on reserve as I thought the bike shop would have done that!

Lesson learnt! I will never make this assumption ever again.

Hubby was not impressed and had to ride into Warkworth to get me some gas. Lovely hubby!

So it seems it only went 200kms on the tank, however...I'm not how full a full tank of gas meant, so I will wait until I have completed another tank before I can be certain. (I certainly hope its more than 200 km's...it looks about to be a 13-15 litre tank).
i would have been ringing the bike shop for some road-side gas - not switching back to the main tank is pretty amateur

    FXR150: around 240km (on 10L!)

    GSXF: around 250km (on 15L)

pushbike: around 100m before something runs out of fuel

    my gsx

my bike has a fuel gauge YAY!!

However from full to 1/2 is about 160k. Then from 1/2 to E is about 80k That makes about 240 so not too bad by the look of it. I was expecting it to go a bit further on a tank but it is what it is. All open road riding usually sitting on 120-140k with the odd zip to 180 when I wake up late for work.

I only get like, 140km from top to bottom. I'm not sure if that's normal for '88 Gixxers but it sucks either way.

Tend to average 320 - 340 to reserve with a theoretical maximum range of 420km. Though once I managed 360 to reserve - had a tailwind from chch to dunedin.

Nope, small tank, plus being geared down doesn't help.

    Starting prob is fixed.

My bike has a 24ltr tank which takes me an average of 250kms before the reserve light comes on, and that is not at Nana pace either. The most I've ever had out of a tank is 280kms, not sure what I did right there though...

Ashburton through to Wanganui which is 653km on the ZXR, left Ashburton with full tank (18lt) put the equivalent of another tankful through the bike during the trip & managed 2 days running around wangazs before having to turn the reserve on. on the trip up averaged 120kmh so that works out at roughly 19.4km/l and it wasn't a slow trip, wellington ferry terminal to Anzac parade (wangaz) in under 2hrs.
