Amen to that...current design is simply incompetent rubbish...the old boys of the Motherland could have gotten 180hp/litre from an engine and get 50mpg IF they wanted to...but they knew better than those half witted Nippon chaps...20hp/litre was just more sensible, and in line with the skyrocketing petrol prices of the time, not like today, gosh no...

around town my scooter gets about 350km per tank full (about 15 liters) or about 450km out of town crusing at 100 to 110 km/h.

does not have a reserve but the digital display warns you of the expected time till the bike dies.

20Km/L on the Nordie with a 10L tank and the Spitfire bar mounted screen.
    15Km/L without the screen.
    This is on 91.

Dunno what the XR250 gets on it's 8L tank but I do have a 21L tank for it if needed

Yeah, but them gallons was much bigger back in those days...

The 640 is good for 200+ to res on the standard 12L tank, as long as I'm not chasing sprotbikes. I haven't managed to hit reserve on the big 20L tank yet but it should be good for 400+km to empty.

Depends how i am riding. If crusing i will see 265k per tank 2up or 275k solo but if hammering i will only get 145k per tank but thats on the limit and on tight twisty 2nd and 3rd gear roads like the Akaroa GP er sorry highway haha

Cb750fc2 gets 280-320kms on the main depending on type of riding. GB400 300-320kms. CB550FA 220km. GSX750EZ 280kms. They're all older than 15 years old so cannot even be remotely considered "modern".

I used to fill the BMW F650 up at 200K - never tested the reserve.
The Tiger is good for around 400+K and is has both fuel gauge and warning light - luxury!

I did 240km before the reserve lights started flashing on one of Yoshi's Slow/Medium rides and got 300km yesterday without hitting reserve on the way back from BBTs.

Let's make that a one-fuel-stop "race" from Wellington to Whangarei then...
