Mate, for a crash at that speed on an open road I think you are expecially lucky to get off with some bruising and a banged up bike aye. Two weeks on and im still pretty rooted after crashing at about that same speed at Puke, and I got more than a few bruises from that.

Yeah I’ll say he's fucking lucky. I bailed at 80k last December and I only went through 1 post and I’m still having problems with my leg and I’m still missing a good inch of bone out of my Tibia. Ducatilover, I seriously hope you take some positive from this mistake and learn well. It could have easily been a different story and we would have been reading about it in the NZ herald. Learning to ride well takes time, just like most things mate, take your time and practice makes perfect.

That driver would NOT have been expecting you to be travelling at 160kph and no matter how many people here want to pat you on the back for being such a cool dude and hot rider, in my opinion you are a dangerous prick who shouldn't be on the road until he can learn some respect for other road users.

Just because you can't see anyone else being a saint, is that an excuse to act this way? I am not claiming to be perfect and I have ridden at higher speeds than that myself on a public road, but the difference is when and where I did it. You've got a long way to go before you realise that speed alone is not an indicator of riding ability.
i hate to admit i agree with you quite alot there. except i dont see it as bragging and i dont think anyone sees me as a hot rider. a hot rider would have known the bike and done a calculated manuvere to pass the vehicle. i'll just keep an open mind and learn from the experience..

fair enough tex, but the jeans thing......that was the third and last time i have not worn protective leggings on any of my bikes. the first two times was when i was waiting for them to come into the shop. i rode from the shop proudly with my gn. i rode to the shop the next day to get my protective leggings. you are right, i did have it coming, i was riding stupid on cold tyres/cold brakes, and have very little experience. as many will agree, being a fricken idiot.

Buy another GN250. You are obviously suited to them
Seroiusly, you are damn lucky and I hope you learn from you're experience. You may be able to pick up a complete 400 Bros cheap wick wink.

Anyone not had a bash at ducatilover yet?
Roll up - roll up. It's good fun - just like clubbing baby seals.

i do plan to use bros400 parts for the rebuild. i rode differnently than what a gn suited. i prefer a sports bike. i am going to be alot more mature when i'm back on the road
