Defensive riding = making people aware of you, ie. lights on?

And keep the light off because:
    a) a cop asked you, therefore you want to "stick it to da man"; or
    b) you think you are invisible from cops with the light off?

    As a commuter-by-car I hate that high-beam thing.

In daylight we can still get dazzled by high-beam of another vehicle.

If you come up behind me and I look in my rear view mirror* and get a bit dazzled and drift a little to the right you haven't helped yourself.

(* I do that, to keep an eye out for splitters so I can make sure I stop reading my paper while drinking my coffee and shaving until they are past me.)
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
