    Arrow electric problem

    Hi all, had a little problem on friday quickly shot up to the shops before work and found myself stranded there for an hour because I lost all power on the bike.


    I have a gsx250 and all things were fine no funny noises or pulsing of battery power, I had started the bike up and was just putting my gloves on when I suddenly lost all power to the bike, every thing was gone, no ignition etc..


    being a newbie to bikes I thought I would swap out the main fuse....still nothing

    I am not sure if the kill switch may have something to do with it because before I parked up I had flicked it with my hand waiting a the lights?


    anyone have any ideas?

    problem update

    Just spoke to the bike shop and the bike has come back to life by itself and they cant switch it off!!!! . if anyone has had this before or knows anything about it please let me know =)

    my bros died when i got it then suddenly it was sweet when i punched the fuel pump, does that help? thats bloody weird though

    A Ghost in the Machine???

    Not sure if this is related but I had the sidestand engine kill (the one that stops you putting the bike in gear with the stand down) coming on at the most inopportune moments on one of my bikes.
    If not, is it something to do with the CDI box? Might have to swap it out...
    Why am I posting about things I have no idea about??? Sorry

    It sound like an exorcism is in order. I know a good Priest.... (actually no I don't). I've had the electrics completely cut out and the bike die (CBR400 Aero) in the past. That particular occurance was due to the regulator dying and the battery no longer receiving a charge. With the headlight on full, the battery drains rapidly and soon the ignition cuts out. The bike needs electricity like it needs the fuel. Still, you usually get a warning or too....and the bike springing back to life and not stopping never happens. Your problem sounds more like a bad connection/fuse somewhere. I'd be checking cutout switches, relays and fuses etc.

    Just to let you know what was happening, the bike came back to life as I said in the last post but the way the problem was explained sounded like the key would not turn the ignition off, turns out the key works fine but they could not simulate the problem. It came back to life after they were looking and moving around the loom so the problem is going to be a bad connection so now I will have fun checking through all of the wires



    I'll post up what I find when I find it so I havn't just started another dead end thread
