    Passrite CBTA course today

So, who was on it? I seem to remember some KB'ers were going to be doing it today....

Came round a corner near alfriston to find a group of L platers with a Passrite instructor following.....so I did the decent thing and hung out behind them for a while...then got bored, so (carefully, indicating, looking, head checking) passed.

    Hope everyone passes

Was booked for this one, but they put an extra course on two weeks before and I did it then. One in our group failed, but was to have another go at it this time ie 21st.

CBTA = Competency Based Training and Assesment. You can move between license stages in a day (learner to restricted, restricted to full) if you demonstrate appropriate skill.

For example, I did the course last year cos I had been riding for years but never made it official on my license....obviously I had the skill as I passed no problems

It's also a general motorcycle training course with some good content.

Passrite do the course, but I think it may be over? It was like a trial period and now the decision has to be made whether or not to make the scheme become the way that motorcyclists get thier licenses from now on.

    Cagers need seomthing similar, methinks!

Passrite actually failed someone? From what I've heard, that must have taken a very impressive riding feat.

Must have got the OK, something very similar is being run by Mainland Driving School down here in Christchurch.

Went into the first sharp corner on Twilight road too fast, braked in the corner and nearly came to grief. Would still have passed if he recoverd from this, but failed because he was too shaken and rode the rest of the ride at 60 odd km/h..... bit of a pain for the rest of us!!!

I thought CBTA courses were fininshed or at least they'd finished the trial period? Are they still running or just the last booked courses going through?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

It should be tougher to pass - you want it to mean something, don't you?
Who was it that said "That which we obtain too easily we esteem to lightly", Thomas Paine?
Otherwise it's all a load of buggary bollocks init?
    Keep it rubber-side down...

It's a lot harder to pass than the standard test, so it's a step in the right direction. And it's taught by motorcyclists.....

I do agree though Korea - it was still way too easy!

Just completed the second to last course down here , last one was yesterday. LTNZ say it makes it pass trial stage and gets re-instated it wont be for another 2 years min.
Political pressure and lack of LTNZ resources killed it.

Agree it should be more difficult, but what about the tin top tests? monkeys can pass in Evo's and Subuarus and be let loose amongst the rest of us.....
    Should sort that out first.
