    Arrow beware the manukau road,ak

had the misfortune of having to ride down the manukau road in auckland from newmarket to royal oak yesterday and today, there is a massive road resurfacing operation going on, which makes the traffic shite. But also your riding on freshly laid tarmacadam, and the shit sticks to your wheels BIG time, as well as throwing stones and grit all over the place. My tyres look like they have measels, and its not coming off that quick either, hate to see the underside of the front fender, probably great big lumps of tar in there as well. I wont get a chance to clean the bike until the weekend, hopefully I can get this shit off without any damage.... my advice pick another route if your going this way!!!!!!

looks like they are slowly moving the whole operation towards newmarket as well.

anyone know a safe way of getting tar of the underbelly of a fairing?

I thought they were ment to do sort of thing at night, thanks mayor hubbard, maybe i'll send him the cleaning bill.

Unfortunately not. This is my daily commute and I've tried all the alternatives. Straight along Manukau Rd to the Gillies Ave on-ramp is normally the quickest. But with the road works I've been avoiding this road and going via Mt Eden. Looks like the resurfacing will take quite a few more days to complete.
