At least you ain't at that stage mate.
I sat on 95 demerits for six months. Slowed me down a bit, but it never made me want to get rid of the bike.
Motu and all the other guys are right. Harden up, or piss off. I'm getting sick of negativity about motorcycles. Let's talk about something much better ...
I've taken recently (as my riding time is a bit limited with kids and stuff) to concentrating my rides into small but intense sessions - my current favourite is out the driveway, three turns and I'm over the Railway lines headed to Wallaceville Hill. From there its over the hill and around to Mangaroa and out just at the hills at the north of Upper Hutt (Plateau Rd) then back again. I can pack more into this quick 20 minute ride than most guys get in a half-days ride - fast corners, slow corners, blind corners over crests on one-lane back roads (if you like that kind of thing), an all-out straight for 1 kilometres, and even some jumps.
And I hardly get over 3rd or 4th gear doing it (with the exception of the 1 km straight), so I'm unlikely to lose my licence.
But its a SHITLOAD of fun.
You don't have to do 280 to enjoy yourself. Get a bike. Find some roads which challenge you without risking your licence.
Then come back and tell us all why you love the bike.
Otherwise fuck off. [/RANT]
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
