    • evidently my penis will shrink if i buy a new 1000cc bike!

A wind up? Never.... Nah I aint stopping biking, but seriously, that list is food for thought. Fess up, who voted those left leaning facists into government again

Zorst is right mate (p.1), and reasons 6&7 are shit-it does have to be 40kmhr over to get busted proper and the first prat to try and stick a transponder on my bike will be getting a swift kick in the arse!

Hmm... when you are on 100 demerits you really start thinking about chucking it in or selling the bike for a while.

At least you ain't at that stage mate.

I sat on 95 demerits for six months. Slowed me down a bit, but it never made me want to get rid of the bike.

Motu and all the other guys are right. Harden up, or piss off. I'm getting sick of negativity about motorcycles. Let's talk about something much better ...

I've taken recently (as my riding time is a bit limited with kids and stuff) to concentrating my rides into small but intense sessions - my current favourite is out the driveway, three turns and I'm over the Railway lines headed to Wallaceville Hill. From there its over the hill and around to Mangaroa and out just at the hills at the north of Upper Hutt (Plateau Rd) then back again. I can pack more into this quick 20 minute ride than most guys get in a half-days ride - fast corners, slow corners, blind corners over crests on one-lane back roads (if you like that kind of thing), an all-out straight for 1 kilometres, and even some jumps.

And I hardly get over 3rd or 4th gear doing it (with the exception of the 1 km straight), so I'm unlikely to lose my licence.

But its a SHITLOAD of fun.

You don't have to do 280 to enjoy yourself. Get a bike. Find some roads which challenge you without risking your licence.

Then come back and tell us all why you love the bike.

    Otherwise fuck off. [/RANT]
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Thanks a lot, riffer! I'm right on the other end of your trip (Junction of Main Road and Topaz Street) so I know what you're talking about. Now you've just made me jealous.

DAMN, COUNTDOWN, WHY DON'T YOU PAY MORE?!!?!?!?!??

well there are alot of down sides to every topic, bikers have and always will be a target for every governing body, after all its an easy target. however its very unlikly you will get nicked for all the reasons given. the being knocked off and injured thing lives with us all whenever you get on your bike.

When the old firearms laws changed I just thought "that doesn't effect me".
    An it didn't,couldn't care less.
The same applys to any one of dozens of road rules that have changed over the years.None of it effects a damn thing I do, so WFT.
40 over an you lose your licence, big deal, don't do it or don't get caught doing it.The people it happens to are just idiots. The fact so many bleat about it here just proves the point.
There's nothing wrong with the roads in NZ,never has been.
People in cars only get in your way"or try to kill you" if your stupid/blind enough to let them.
Shit it's been a slow day,I actualy responded to this crap

Dont even think about giving up motorbikes. that is what a stupid little man in Wellington wants us to do by sitting in his comftable air conditioned office with nothing else to do but try and ruin peoples lives and he is picking on us bikers this time. Next time he has an itch it will be another group. He more than lickly has never owned or ridden a bike in his life or worst has had an encouter with abike and it has been his fault and like most car owners blames the biker for the accident. NEVER let the MAN get to you. Our bike are the best thing to happen
