My mistake I've since upgraded it (the link)

That'll learn me - trying to do one of those clever click HERE links!

i picked up my 98 mazda 2500 diesel (non turbo) high kms for 5k
thing runs sweet, extra cab. didn't want double not enough room on the deck and single no room inside.
so extra cab or king cab is sweet. non turbo real cheap to run which is sweet with fuel prices. and smooth to drive. not alot of power but thats why i got the bike. and its a great work horse. it came with canopy. easly removable.
    never looked back.
but overall i found utes to be expensive. van would be better, but i never did like the idea of hitting something head on. loss of legs.
i saw a van hit a cow once, and the passenger was lucky she had her legs on the dash. otherwise she would have lost them.
but if it was a ute the dam cow would probably roll over the bonnet through the windscreen.
    hell who knows.

but i could see myself taking a girl out in a ute more than a van.

what about a horse float instead. just an oversized trailer, covered and lockable. with the ability to sleep inside too.

Ive done the lot --dag namb it --trailer/ute /van and by far -like a country mile the best way is a van.
    So many advantages.
1)bung ya gear in during the day and lock it up.
2)if its a wet shitty day you have a dry place to sit
3)going places isn't a hassle -esp with tinted windows.
    4) when ya get home tired you dont have to unload the van
    5) if you get the 4wd then itll go most anywheres a ute will go.
    6) you can load up days before going away
I'd suggest a hiace JUMBO 4wd hi roof. They are bloody fantastic.

According to our recent reader survey, utes are far more popular for transporting bikes than vans.
