    Rich new KBer!

There was an item on Stuff about the big Lotto winner from last weekend - I like the guy's style!

An Auckland man who yesterday handed a week-old Lotto ticket in at a Manukau shop discovered it was worth $9.4 million.

New Zealand Lotteries Commission chief executive Trevor Hall said the man, who wants to remain anonymous, bought the ticket last Saturday at Manukau City Lotto and had not checked it until returning there yesterday.

He won a total prize of $9,357,086 - $8,838,713 from winning Powerball first division and $518,373 from also winning Lotto first division.

"I knew that a ticket from Manukau City had won it, and I had even joked about it earlier on with my family," the man later told the Lotteries Commission.

"The girl in the shop told me she had to call Wellington about my ticket and that I would have to wait five minutes.

"I waited and time went on and on, it seemed like forever, and then she came back and told me I'd won the big one."

The windfall is the seventh biggest Powerball win ever by a single ticket. The winner, who is a regular Lotto player, said the windfall couldn't have come at a better time for him and his family with Christmas and other family celebrations coming up.

He plans to share the winnings with family members, as well as treating himself to a new motorbike.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

    What, just the one?

There was a young guy in England who won big on the footy pools over there, and had a couple of articles in one of the Brit M/C mags. Apparently he'd been a bit of a lad in his yoof, GSXR rider or something, but he was only in his 20's when he won. Think he ended up owning and running a Superbike team in BSB. Havent heard what he's been up to lately, prob spent most of his money on bikes and wimmen, and the rest he wasted!

Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.

Yeah that was me. Actually I bought the ticket in the name of Kiwibikers, and intend to share the proceeds with all bona fide members of at least 6 months standing. By my calculation you should each get several hundred thousand. You will need to send me details of when you joined, along with a cheque for $500 to cover administration charges and bank fees...
