The American choppers are too feminine for my tasts. Long lean and slender with no body.

These are the choppers I like. Big. Brutish and mean. The sort of bike that says FUCK WITH ME.................AT YOUR PERIL.

...Bearing in mind Russell Mitchel is an ex Pom, which probably has a lot to do with his styling influences - And he does build cool bikes.

Hey nothing wrong with sports bikes -

As regards custom choppers - anyone who cant appreciate the amount of effort that goes into creating these machines is a shallow person.

Custom choppers are cooler than the ice age.

......but sprot boiks are hotter that hell too

Yep that's the thing. Saw this guy in a Biker build off on the Discovery channel.

No doubt in my mind that his was the best bike but it just was not going to win.

The difference between the American concept of beauty and the European is that of long lean and slender for the former and full and rounded for the latter. I could go on for some time on this theme as to the reasons for the difference. Suffice to say that America is a relitively young county and as such it rejected many of the European ideas and traditions. Coupled with the Japanese influence of minimilism, after the second world war, and you can begin to see and understand where the American concept of beauty came from.

It is interesting to note that some of the early Harleys, (Indian look-a-likes) were more in keeping with the European traditions than are now current with that marque.

Bugger all work goes into a chopper, otherwise they would go, handle and stop

Then do it. Who knows you may even like it, and at the very least you could sell it for some cash.

Maybe one day Waylander, for me the raw material would be closer to a V-max or V-rod, both iconic machines!

It's a lot easier in Amerikkka, where they can just order in a bunch of chopper parts to be delivered straight to their door. It's nowhere near as niche over there as it is here.
