    Bike crapping out it seems

Went on a ride the other day at the waimac and all day my bike just died when idling. It wouldn't stay lit and made me nuts all day. My leg feels like hamburger from kicking it over so much. I have always had friends who were bike minded to look it over and such, but since moving over here haven't had any luck finding people or riding partners. I haven't taken my bike, or any bike, down or gave them a good once over. I am keen to learn and want to do my bike over... any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Bit far away to help, but sounds like you need to strip, clean and adjust the carby, do the air filter & maybe a new plug while you are at it. Not a difficult task.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Any recommendations on air filter cleaner? I can do that one... haven't in a couple rides which I know is probably a big no-no... My buddy did it when he rode it last but have no idea what he used... only been back on it a couple times so far after the rebuild.

And while we're on it, would a quick spray with some carb cleaner work fine? Or maybe some other method to clean it out?

dont panic.....yet, it just sounds like a dirty cleaner, mine duz that when i take it away for weekends and dont clean it between rides, just buy some kero $4.95 from the W/H, give it a good clean and then give it an oil with some good filter oil, as for the rest if it aint broke dont fix it.....

Ditto, just hang it up to dry in between & I use a plastic squeezy bottle with airfilter oil so you can apply the oil to the inside of the clean filter like you did honey on toast as a kid. Then chuck it in a plastic bag & squeeze till even. Try some old dishwashing gloves or disposable ones.

If there are any rips a new after market filter (twin air or whatever) is pretty cheap. Use proper airfilter oil.

With the carb if required, it’s just take the float bowl off & blow through the jets, never poke anything.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
