    Silver Ninja just been binned

Just looking out of the window in the office here, WRT spotted a silver 05 ZX6 or ZX10 has just gone sliding south bound on the Southern Motorway just past the Symonds street onramp, the guy is ok, he was up after about a minute and walking, ambo took him away for checks i guess. no cars were involved by the looks of it. Maybe worth checking if you know anyone in Auckland riding a silver '05 ninja

i didn't see what happend, its a straight bit of motorway, its busy but its straight, no cars were stopped so it doesn't look like a car was involved. i guess they just lost traction somewhere somehow, maybe some oil, maybe he locked the front and lost it... hard to say really.

There was a new silver one at Vinz this morning. I wonder if someone took it out to scrub the tyres.

I just happened to glance out the window in time to see the bike sliding up the road. There was a car just in front that was in between lanes (the bike was sliding up the righthand lane), not sure if he was involved or just moving out the way. No idea what caused it, the car was a little way in front so doubt he was the cause (he never stopped either by the way, but he would have been a long way down the road by the time he pulled up and there is no shoulder there, so cant really blame him).

I didnt really see what happened because I only spotted it all after the guy had come off. He was wearing black gear, and lay up against the barrier for a bit, fortunately the car behind him (big ups to this dude) pulled up to block traffic and got out and checked on the guy. He then left the rider for a bit to get the bike back up on its wheels and more out of the way of the traffic. By this point the rider was getting up and about, and seemed to be ok. A motorway support ute pulled in about this time (as did a medium sized truck, who made sure everyone was ok then left again), and after a bit of a discussion the cop blocked the traffic and the civilian walked the bike to the side of the Symonds St onramp, while the rider walked alongside.

Another cop and an ambo turned up for a bit, and two towies pulled in as well. The towies and the cops wound up getting the bike on the back of a flat deck truck and taking it away, the rider was out of sight by this point, dunno if he left in the ambo or one of the cop cars. The towies and the cops tried to get the bike started to ride it up onto the truck, but no joy, I could see their disappointment even from this distance. All in all, the bike didnt look too bad, it just slid on one side, no tumbling, and probably was just flooded. It was definately a pick up job, not a sweep up job, and the rider looked to be reasonably ok.

FWIW, the road was dry at the time, and the traffic was flowing as well as it ever does thru there, say around 80-90kph or so.

If anyone can fill in any more details, please advise . . .

    Too late it's already broken
