Since I dont ride a litre bike I agree with the initial observation. I would suggest it has to do with the quality of the brakes. When stopping a bike from a high speed, there is more of a tendency to slide the rider forward into said bikes petrol tank thus appling more nadger compressing forces, than say a 600 would
