    A Pleasing Outcome (I hope).

Trundling up Shelly Beach Road today, it's obvious from back near the offramp that traffic is backing up somewhat. I come around the corner, look as far ahead as I can to see what's up, and there's a blitz or summat, because there's cops everywhere. So, I get in the right-turn bay to go down towards Curran Street, and the eejit in front of me, who's obviously looking no further ahead than the end of his bonnet, whacks his confiminator on at the very last second as he dives to the right. I tootle him (neither melodiously nor vigorously), just to let him know I'm there, he's a pillock, and I didn't enjoy being cut off. Because I was watching him (as you do), there was no danger, I was just annoyed.

Just around the corner, there's a cop standing in the road. He points at the car, then the side of the road: "You! Here - now!"

I dunno if he witnessed the off-cutting and the tootling, or if this was just a random checkpoint, or if he suspected the guy of trying to evade the check, or what, but it gave me a smirkyface, and made me laugh.
If it was a checkpoint, then Mr Turntooquick inadvertantly did me a favour by replacing me as the next victim, and given that I was already late (too much fiddling with the VifFerraRi), it was a Good Thing.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

Yay!!!! I always think its a shame a cop wasn't there when someone's being a Dick. Today, in your case, it sounds like justice may have been served.

In the roundabouts of bugs and windscreens...today you are the windscreen!
I've finished okay...there are no last words of wisdom...it's time to pull your pants up and go home!

Do you know if they caught many of us North Shorians pissed?
Personally I always need a large scotch or three before I face the rigours of the day.

S'funny, that; I had one for my throat last night (no - that's not a Tui billboard line) and was thinking I should've brought the bottle to work with me this morning.
I'm amazed/perplexed/dismayed/unsure about how fast the bottle's gone down since I got it a few weeks ago, as I'd never drunk scotch before that.
    Maybe it's got a leak...

Anyway, it's not important - the vifferbabe's bringing me back a Glenmorangie on Sunday.
    ... and that's what I think.

Well, I hope it was a judgement. It'd be a shame if the driver didn't get a telling-off at the very least.
BTW Zed - feel free to talk me into going on this ride tomorrow. I'm not terribly enthusiastic at the moment, and need some encouragement so I don't stay home and do the housework.

Unfortunately I'm not riding tomorrow. Heading up north to do the pre-Christmas thing with family...next Saturday (10th) however it would be gr8 if you could join us on the Coromandel ride with Mr Zadok and co.

    That's funny V.
Can you send me a copy of your dictionary? I'd like to learn the use of words like 'tootle' and 'confirminator'. Is 'Mr Turntooquick' one of the Mr Men?

I had more than just one for me throat last night, after a mate won a tasting contest (guessing the age and origin of 9 different drams). Coulda used a bit more time in the sack last night . . .

My regulars the Glenlivet (nice and rounded, not too peaty). Also, my father brought me back the 12yo french limosine oak from London a while ago - was all in all Very Tasty . . .

Like I said, I've never drunk scotch before. My eldest son bought some Glenfiddich a while ago, and we cracked that just to compare it with the Highland Park, but it wasn't as smooth. More peaty?
And that's the limit of my scotch imbibing experiences.

Man, I could do with one now. I really should have brought the bottle to work with me...

I tell you, if you don't drink it quick enough, the bloody stuff evaporates...
