Cool... you know, its almost been as if the 750 has become the forgotten bike with the emphasis on the 600s nowadays.

Be nice to see a few more coming here.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Suzuki are keeping them in there stable cause its part of there racing style.

Reason most of the other brands drops there was cause SBK and other racing around the world don't really support the 750 its either 600cc or 1000cc so they think why waste the money on a 750 but suzuki as right idea, have all 3 of ya bikes pretty much the same al lya have to work on is the engine every couple of years and ya be sweet

    well thats my 2cents

but i can't wait until my 04 gsxr600 is here

i wonder if yam or kwaka are thinking of resurrecting the R7 or zX-7R's? both have been pretty popular (and capable) bikes and make a lot of sense instead of an oversized 1000 weapon.

that r7 was only mad in limited numbers so it could race in wsk and the zx7r is long over due for a update now 1000 allowed in superbikes they won't they are killing it off

BTW the gsxr does not look boxy on bottom

thats the reason I ask because the exact same theory was being espoused last two years when the 1000's were to be let into SBK. Everyone said 'there goes the gixxxer 750' but suzuki have been smart enough to retain it. I'm curious if kawasaki or Yahama think there might be a similar market for them without the racing

    No.

And that's why they don't build 'em anymore. Suzuki has very strong loyalties to the 750 as this was the bike that first kicked of race replicas back in '85-'86. The motorcycling public also is very affectionate of the GSX-R750 (especially in Europe). I particularly backwards friend (and a member of this forum) who will not touch anything else with a barge pole even though he consistantly gets hosed off by my 600! heh heh, you like that Jimbo?

    Anyway, long live the GSX-R750!

shame really. theres certainly a cult of zx-7R lovers out there that'd keep buying the bike (like me if this 600 wasn't so cheap!). a sensible alternative to the 1000s that are out now with silly power for most of us.

I love the look of the zx7rs as well they are long in the teeth, heavy compared to newer bikes, but they are rock steady thru the corners, got the usual kawasaki bad points, but i still want on sitting my shed

You`re right there, the 750 is really popular in Britain not least because unless it`s garaged, fitted with an immobiliser and you`ve got a spotless claims and convictions record a lot of insurance companies either wont insure you on a GSXR1000(and many similar machines)or you`ll need to re-mortgage.Partly because of the insurance thing sales of Sportsbikes are falling off while Cruiser, trail and supermoto styles are climbing rapidly.Bikes like the GSXR1000 are also targetted by bike-stealing gangs, these arseholes have been known to follow people on the road to see where they park their bikes then break into their garages at night.

Yeah but sports bikes are a big market in the UK as well as USA for being stole where in NZ sports bikes are stolen a great deal, its mostly dirt bikes and harleys, but i think harleys getting stole is the same the world around.

Yeah i know a few guys in the USA who been followed home on there 1000 and then they dispear a few days later. Thats why i like living rural, its pretty clear if someone is following me, also most cars won't be able to keep up with my rural road.

But back to the point the gsxr750 is loved the world over, long may it spin its wheels

    Oooh arrr

Just from sitting on it and wotnot, though, I can't say I like the riding position. Still, the 7R was never meant to be a Comfy Chair, was it? At least it's got a bit of meat on its bones, not like all these namby-pamby skimpy little 600s and out-of-breath oversized V-twins people are riding these days
