Thread: Fricking bike wont start!!

The previous owner could have set it up richer to suit his riding, and been able to keep the plug clean. You may have to lean it out to suit yourself.I don't have a clue about such finese, but first see what rev range it seems to run richest at and work from there. Most likely richer on bottom end to get more snap out of turns.

Having a think about this in the weekend. One, check the tank tap doesn’t leak, (you do turn it off yeah?) this could be filling your crank cases up & fouling your plug first time you kick it after leaving it a while.

Use the choke when cold, but don't open the throttle until it starts as you are negating the choke cct by rushing a bunch of air past.

Also the RHS crank seals apparently don’t last long on RMs of this vintage. This will tend to foul plugs. May be able to change this in situ if it is outside the bearing, some suzis aren’t though.

Well it did it agian. I rode it harder and it still fouled a plug adn rooted it. One thing though factory plug is a 10 (seems high) and it came with a 7, I put the old 7 back in it and it went sweet as. maybe it's just set up to run that plug?? I'll see how it goes.
