Mass amount of bikes today in Kahikatea What was up

Hi guys

I was sitting at the BP on Kahikatea Flats Rd (runs between Albany highway and Kaukapakapa (Auckland)) at around 3pm this afternoon having my lunch, when i saw about 4 or 5 bikes go past, heading towards Albany highway. Thought nothing of it, just some guys going for a ride. then about 7 or 8 more,, and thought maybe an organised ride, then literally hundreds of bikes went past. Most were cruisers, but there were a couple of sport bikes. Just curious as to what was going on there.
Any ideas???

could be a Uylsses (sp) bike ride as well.
They organise groups rides for their club.

Remember mum and dad saying that eventually you start seeing plenty of accidents..
