My all time number one all star american hero has gotta be Scott Russell (the fact he won '93 WSB on a Muzzy ZXR750 no doubt leans my favour towards him). But that lanky Texan drawl definitely holds more than 749cc of street cred y'all, and that's what swings it for me.

Mike Hailwood & Wayne Rainey for GP's, Joey Dunlop & Nori Haga, particularly on the R7 for others.......
Locally on a current pure entertainment angle.....Briggs on the motard and those old coots on the Triumph sidecar are my current picks.....Gregg Hansford was great as well.....the first person I saw consistently doing wheelies down Puke's back straight on the H2R.....

When you see his front wheel it is cocked over, and is leaving a black stripe on the tarmac. He isnt crashing, thats the way he cornered the thing!! If you look you can see all the others he did on EVERY lap of the circuit !!! !!!

    Unbelievable.

Kenny Roberts said of him when asked about his riding style "He didnt have a style, he jsut coped"... still pissed off about that last lap pass in 87?

Second is Rossi: Until he retires, he OWNS this sport....

Agostini: same but in the 60's

Hailwood: I wish I was as tidy as him....

followed by the 80's pantheon: Lawson, Rainey, Roberts, Schwantz, Mamola...

I really enjoyed the Kim Newcombe film also.... so he is in the list.
    Have to agree! BUT

Eddie Lawsen is still my out right top man, always told it as it was, never pointed the finger else where, only at himself.
Look what he did with that Cagiva and the -uck awful 500 Honda he got on. Shame is sence of humour was so bland, or was I to naive to get it

Well what would you do? Run through the streets stark naked at 350 miles per hour with bells on your toes?

Have to say I was brought up on watching Aaron Slight racing WSBK. So he's my personal favourite. Plus, I've heard he does wheelie's on Honda Valkyries... anyone care to confirm or deny?

I always love to see Kiwi boys doing well, so Aaron Slight & Andrew Stroud have to be big favourites!

Joey Dunlop was seriously the man around the Isle - awesome to watch.

Of course I love watching Valentino Rossi race as well, the guy is just gifted. There's a lot of exciting racers in the MotoGP though.

I think as far as WSB goes, Noriyuki Haga has to be the most exciting to watch. His style is awesome!

The long tall Texan Kevin Schwantz spectacular rider with big balls, saw him crash at the end of the main straight of "Eastern Creek" at 270 klm picked himself up went and got his no 2 bike and set pole in two laps. Were all bloody lucky cause at the moment were all watching the greatest rider of all time, the "Doctor" Valentino Rossi.

Have fun and "GROW OLD DISGRACEFULLY"

    Carl Fogarty
    John Kocinski

err....I just realized all of them won on Honda at some stage in their life....
