..but seems to go beyond vandalism,who walks around with a pair of sidecutters?..attempted theft is one thing,but that is plain nasty

Thats real bad luck mate. Really steams my kumera to hear bout stuff like this, although, judging by the extremity of the damage, it was prob done by someone with a fair idea bout bikes and a personal grudge.

U gotta get that shit sorted bro! I agree you need to share the Garage for the dogs & bike. Firstly the bike, Secondly the dogs!
Even better still. Get the dogs a run, biff the dogs in it, park your bike in the garage and get your garage alarmed!!! Too many fuckwits out there not to, let me know if you want a perky alarm installed on your garage, I can arrange for an Auckland security tech to give you a perk job.

Yup, my bikes locked, alarmed, brake locked, garaged, and then the garage is blocked by my vehicle (which is factory immobilized & weighs 2.5 tonne). I'm not paranoid, no siree.

That is so bizzarre, to carry wire cutters, OK, odd but understandable. Carry BRAKE FLUID? Now thats very strange, this person targeted you, and you have really pissed them off.
I would think about who you cut off or jumped at the lights, who may have followed you home. Not necessarily the night before.
(tie the dogs to the bike in the garage, might help) but I think whoever did this has done what they wanted to do, ie get your attention.

Why someone would do this is totally beyond me. I don't know what the neighbourhood is like, but it sounds dodgey. Thats just lowest of all low behaviour. I REALLY hope you find out who it was mate, I feel your pain.

we have had a few party's lately and noise control was rung we think maybe it was the person who rang them.our house is for sale when it sales maybe we should have a party and have a few kiwi bikers and give them something to call noise control on.
