On the road I prefer 'Trustworthy and predictable'.
Speed or stunts don't come into it.

Personally I absolutely love that corner and I can happily sit behind traffic until I come up to it and then it's all on for that one corner, if some prick (not calling you a prick, just how I feel at the time) is in the way when they should be in the left lane then I get pretty pissed off,

I'm with TLDV8 when it comes to using lanes, the little signs on the side of the road say keep left unless passing, if your not passing, which includes riding/driving next to people, get out of the way for people who want to pass, not a dig at you but one of my pet hates and my main cause of road rage.

lovie, i agree - therefore, I WAS in the left lane, and i was passed at high speed on my left...i.e undertaken. that was what i've been bitching about....

Point taken Death, but undertaking someone on a main highway at warp speed? I don't remember any of "the boys" ever pulling a stunt like that on the road rides....and they were all far more skilled and experienced than the rider in question.

Hey go easy on the "OLD" bit......I just so happen to feel young!
I meant the other old guy!! He was either on a Bandit or an SV. Besides, you're older than me and I feel kinda ancient at times lol

Pity about the manouver and the fact it upset you mate. I can see where you are coming from, but I can also understand the reasons for the senior member. I have done the same and if you two were taking up two lanes I would have proberbly gone on the outside lane and not inside.

I would like to hear both reasons, but if he was overtaken by you guys while he was doing under the limit and then he passed you riding to his limits, good on him.

I would not be happy with someone who cut me on the inside, provided i wasn;t using both lanes or on a racetrack. They would probably get more than a mouthfull at the next stop. Bloody arrogant taking someone elses safety in their own hands.
Valentino Rossi could be the one pulling the manouever, and the guy he is overtaking could be a newbie who looses his line or whatever, and they both go spilling.
I am happy to ride with guys who wheelie, stoppie, speed etc, but there has to be a time and place, and uundertaking on the road just isn't cool.

GR lane split at 250ks.. not quite the same thing here..

Most of the people who over/undertake, it's mostly not just an impulse thing. So much calculation goes into it, that if things add up, it's often not done. If you ride unpredictably, then people are going to take any chance they can to get round you, hopefully in a safe manor. If you ride predictably, then you will be overtaken with care.. So it's easy, just stick to your line and don't jerk off on the road, and everyone is happy.. Like my gf keeps telling me, it'll be over before you know it, and everyone just gets on with what they're doing

Who are these boys, i wouldn't mind meeting em if what you say is ture.

The young (what is it with Rossi) rossi that pulled the move i know rather well, and i dont think that he would've pulled the move without considering other peoples saftey first, in fact i know he would'nt of, he saw a gap and used it, and your defintion of "warp" speed is prolly a sedate cruising for speed for some. and like someone else pointed out, the corner in question is a nice corner, and after being bored to death with SH2 for so long i would've gone for it too, you're obviously annoyed at it and i guess you have the right to be.
I think the biggest problem nowadays is that there is such a diverse range of riders on group rides now, with noobs fresh on the bike and experianced old riders to the nicky hayden (sick of rossi) wanabes, really with so many rides being organized they need to be stated as to weather they would suit the more faster, experianced rider or the new to bikes, i had it many times when i have organized a ride and said fast riders only, but people dont seem to get it and the slower like turn up, normally i open my rides up to anyone, but if i want to keep it to a faster group i end up PMing other riders. (er not that i ride a hell of lot these days).

Good point Bruce, this was one of the reasons that Fight Club was formed.

I also know the two riders that are being talked about, and trust them, I know they are both very skilled riders, who I am more than happy to ride with .

having said that I guess I can understand what MV is saying, and understand how she feels about it.

Also form the point of view of the yossi guy, if you are running a ride you do feel responsible, I can relate to that, and yes it can be a pisser when things get out of hand.

I guess the most we can hope for is that some lessons have been learnt.

    my own fault really.
