Smile I've got it and I'm damned impressed.

Well I've finally got it, yep that's right it's actually parked in my shed right now . Finally delivered to me at about 3pm this afternoon. She was really well ctrated so I must email the guy in states and thank him for that. Took ages to uncrate it then reattach the windscreen and reconnect the battery and then off to the local BP with a petrol can for some juice to make her go.
She roared into life with just a couple of touches of the start button. Purrs like a kitten. I've done a couple of laps of the block so far even though she's not registered or warranted or anything, just couldn't wait for all that. What a rocket machine, I use to ride a Honda CBX 6 cylinder 1000, I'm thinking she's a little quicker than that and that was bloody quick.
My next problem is the headlights, It's been pointed out to me by Frosty, that they are probably set to dip to the right being American but it needs to be set to dip to the left or straight down of course for us. I've found a page on the net which descibes how to adjust them so i'm hoping I can get away with that cos it's over $400 for a new headlamp assembly.
Well that's enough of my ramblings for now i think. I'll leave you with a picture or three.

My old XV was a US import the dip went to the right passed the warrent every time. The bike had been in NZ for 15 years and no one pickedup on the dip pointing the wrong way. Would have to change the whole headlight so that the light focus' in the right place. Come to think of it my current bike is a US import can't remember which way the dip points but the bike has been in NZ 21 years now.

You may not have to worry about it. As Holy Roller said, they may not pick up on it. Or it could be like my bike and is not dipped in either direction.

Re: the headlight dip problem, I think I've solved it. Upon investigation this evening I have discovered each lamp has an adjustment dial which when turned adusts the height of the lamp so I've just cranked the right one down and the let one up. I'm gonna book it in for it's inspection tomorrow and, fingers crossed, be legal for the weekend.
I've been away but I'm coming back.
