Cool Suzuki's ultimate Concept Bike (IMO)

    Hi All,

Done a search through the Post archives & couldn't find anything related to this amazing Concept Bike from suzuki back in 1986 its the Suzuki NUDA & what makes it special is that it was a fully functional Bike capable of 280km/h that incorporated the heart of a GSX-R750, 2wheel drive, 2wheel steering, & a articulated seat system that moved with the lean of the bike!

pretty amazing beast thats basically 20yrs old in design.

this sites worth a nosey also; http://negatendo.net/kmc/fr_suzuki.htm

Correct me if I'm wrong but arn't all bikes steered by both wheels? And the seat leaning with the bike? Kinda an obvious one.

BTW Kaneda's Motorcycle Concept is a site where someone is trying to build a bike out of an anime movie(and manga series) called Akira. Had a thread on it here but the links in it don't work anymore for some reason.

not like this waylander, the 2wheel steering system is the same principle as Honda's 4wheel steering in its cars. the seat moves independant of the frame it isn't rigid

Ah, ok. Still don't see the point but maybe that's why it never went into production?

its a shame really that it never made it to production, mainly because of the high tech nature of the beast plus the fact it was basically 20yrs ago ( would have made things interesting now days if it had been produced).

but most concept bikes at shows are only dummy models ( just a shell with no capability to run) where the Nuda was a fully functional machine. would have been hell expensive if had been produced though, that would have been it's biggest failure.
just imagine a production model, minus the 2wheel drive & steering, now that would be fun .
it had its first public viewing at the 87 tokoyo motorshow

yeah kinda thought that was the point of a CONCEPT bike myself, interesting design, definately feels like an 80's influence. but a new paint job could sort that out.
2 wheel drive be scary losing traction on the front wheel. wonder how they got around that?
suppose one of the reasons why it never eventuated any further. as well as extra drive gear making it expensive and heavier.

I got January's Cycle World in the post last night, and it has this new Suzuki concept bike: its got the cool stuff from the CBX (six cylinders across the frame baby!) and Katana - esque styling influences.

    and production ready also .

    I'd just about buy one.

One of the main reasons I got out of motorbikes at the end of the '80's was that it was hard to find a bike that wasnt a repli racer "Egg bike" (i.e. a bike that looked like an egg) or some warmed over POS... theres a LOT of damn cool stuff at present though.

it's just the lights that don't cut it for me. maybe the yellow seat too.
but certainly remind me of the old katana.
and ya right about the egg shape. it's all about streem lines.
but i still got to love naked bikes.

First one I've seen with a yellow seat, must be the light as everyone I've seen so far is orange.

I'm going to be different and say I like it.
