i wear one on the longer rides, keeps my bike nice and straight, and also gives you that bit more confidence knowing your better protected. Dont wear commuting casue its a pain in the arse to take off after 10mins
was only wearing a half protector when I had my....."incident"!
Have been meaning to get one of Bretts for a while, but Im slack....anyway....result....1 broken rib, right at the top of the protector - cause - probably one of the smallish rocks I landed on. Now...iffen I'd actually got a full length one.............

I've only recently brought a back protector... and I've worn it once... I plan to wear it on big-ish rides when I know I'll be riding a little different to just commuting my 9 minutes to work...

Bear in mind folks that most crippling accidents take place within a short distance of your destination. You're less likely to be injured in the middle of a long ride, than at the beginning or end of a short one.
I know I'm not allowed to preach about the comparative benefits of safety gear, but if you have a back protector and plan to use it, well then, do!

I cut a chunk off the foam insert and then tried the suit on with the back protector. Much more room and comfortable. After reading the posts here and thinking about it, I'll be wearing mine all the time.Originally Posted by sAsLEX

I got T-boned by a Holden Kingswood only two minutes from home while riding to work. The resulting aggravation of existing spinal damage meant a change of job, which meant retraining, which meant one year on a student allowance and about two further years on CRAP pay before I finally started making some decent money.Originally Posted by placidfemme
Buy a back protector and then wear it every time you ride.
Always wear mine unless the wife's on the back then she wears it. Should have two but she's on pillion not as often as I would like so she get's mine.

Ordered a back protector from Motoequip last Friday and received it this morning. Quality and pricing are excellent and the product looks strong enough to take a hit from a pick axe. Thanks Tony
My Quasimoto backprotector is fitting well and is the shizzAs good as any other out there. Price was way cheaper than any of the good ones I had seen in the shop too. My advice would be to PM Quasi if you are looking at getting one

Dude, I hope it goes well and you have a speedy recovery. Bummer that it has to happen over the break but I guess you'll need this to recover.Originally Posted by sixpackback
