How do you carry spare helmet when you are picking up someone (say, within 10-20 minutes ride away)?
I'm interested in how sportriders do this.
I can stuff the jacket into my backpack, but I can't figure out how I can carry the helmet safely.

Use duct tape to hold it to the rear tail peice
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
fast bling bike is no good if you can't use it to pick up chicks!Originally Posted by Dynamytus50
I tried the helmet-through-elbow but (1) it hindered handling and unsafe for riding, and (2) if I fall off it would be bye-bye-elbow.

Its the only way to carry a helmet. However if we was really worried about handling, would we have a pillion in the first place and its bye-bye if we come off anyhow.Originally Posted by Marmoot

Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
I wear it on my arm, and just a warning lane splitting would be a bad idea while carrying the helmet this way.
Helmets come with a carry bag, use the carry bag![]()

the carry bag is a thin piece of cloth bag that the sewings have come undone in various places......I don't trust that.Originally Posted by NC
So, is the helmet-over-elbow legal? Or would it be classified as unsafe-load?

push the helmet past your elbow onto the top part of your arm. it dosnt affect handling this way. Wont work if youre a chunky sorta lad though
There is no dark side of the moon, really, as a matter of fact. Its all dark...
is there no way to strap it to the back? dad has said hes carried a spare lid on the helmet lock, but i cant see how that wouldnt get in the way of your leg. likely safer than over the arm though.

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.
gee i have no idea but will be looking to find out what ppl say
Not that I carry one often and when I do it isn't far but I simply use a bag on my back...then stash it(the bag) away under the back cowling.Sorted.
Don't like attempting to do the elbow trick as I found it always dropped forward and caused potential problems and no pillion is worth damage on my bike!![]()

Bungee net is one alternative. but I'v experienced situation where the helmet tilted to the side and almost fell over (had I not happen to notice it on the rear view mirror) so not really keen on it unless there is no other alternatives.
