I must ride like a nana

Went out riding with a mate, who is a relative newbie yesterday,

thought it would be a good ride up the Taka's, me thinks I will show the boy a thing or 2..... fire up the mighty 1200 and say follow me on your 250 underling.

hit the bottom of the hill with that familiar feeling of , I'll just see him at the top and off I go like a cut cat.

get halfway up , some daring passing shots... look in the mirror and bugger me if he's not right up my jaxi.......

got to the top of the hill with him rubbing my rear tyre, jump off and find hes not even sweating.

I will now sell the bandit and buy a goldwing, its the only thing for old fatrs like me.
Please NOTE: If I offend you with any of my posts or comments, please remember that.

    Arrow lol, good one.

Although I suspect that a good little sprotbike would walk all over a goldwing also. Harden up mate, there are allways others that are better. In my case, alot.

But mine is more embarrising. On my way to Wellsford we went through a small town and this guy on a chopper came up behind me. We hit the open road and I picked up the pace. Not record breakers but I hit a decent number and he was still there. Okay maybe some twisties will sort him out. Nah. Still there.

He later pulled off a driveway so I figured he had local knowledge but man he could ride that thing. Okay it was wet and I'm still getting used to my bike. Oh and it don't blame my bike - it was ME!

Better or not better, competitive riding is for the track. Just enjoy yourself.
Hey you're going faster than I am!!
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

The takas are far more suited to a 250 than a bandit, so if you want to "save face" just the physics of little bike vs big bike will explain it. Unless you're really looking for an excuse to trade in the man card for a goldwing...

I openly admit to riding like a nana. I've done my bit of fast road driving/riding. Then I grew pubes.

Let the bikie hoons take the 'glory' and tickets. I'm just happy to look at the scenery and get there in one piece these days.

You mentioned the word newbie. Has he/she fallen off?? Not to be nasty or anything, but it sure slowed me down.

When learning, I think (well, I did) you get a little cocky about your ability. Until you come off. Then you realise you weren't quite as good as you thought, and that it bloody hurts coming off.

Took a while to start going faster again. Always seeing potential pain on any corner, and imagining hitting it...

Spoken to a few others that had the same thing too. Some haven't... meh. Just have to hope that if you do learn that way, it ain't too hard.

He'll slow down after his first big off, most are quick until then..
