Difference between enduro and mx

Can someone please tell me the technical differences between enduro and mx bikes? I read somewhere enduro have bigger flywheels but what else?

I was looking at a new wr250, although it can be road-legal it had a sticker saying it wasn't recommended. Is this a comfort reason? Or because the engine (or whole bike) is specifically designed for short bursts of speed and not a constant rev.

Enduro will have some token towards street legal,like lights - at one stage an enduro bike had to have WoF and rego to compete.Also a speedo with trip meter.The gearbox will have wider ratios and and the motor a wider powerband,possibly a bigger tank and the suspension will be softer.You can MX and enduro bike and ride an MX in enduros - but you will need to be a very good rider to do well in each....that's why they are different.

Enuro bikes usually have more gears and more bottom end go. and are much eaiser to ride.

According to the main guy at the local Yamaha dealer, he said the main differences between the YZ450F and WR450 are the WR has a restrictive pipe, WR has a 5 speed gearbox and YZF has a 4 speed and the cam timing is different. So basically if you wanted a WR to have more power you get a YZF pipe and adjust the cam timing

It's a bit different with the 2006 models. Originally the WR and YZF were basically the same, now Yamaha are starting to develop them as seperate bikes. The WR keeps mainly the same for 2006 besides the usual several grams they've shaved off a bolt making the bike way better than last years model whilst the YZF has been changed a fair bit and has a 5 speed gearbox
