bikes are the best and they kids react i reckon everyone should be that excited about them.
i think its kind of funny when you are sitting next to a car at the lights and a little kid in the back sees ya and waves to ya and then the arents tell the kid not to wave at the big bad motorcycle man, wish those parents would get a grip

quite often got waved at by kids overseas. only once or twice over here. but yeh, kids are the bestest, so are disabled adults and some elderly. quite often read about elderly whos dream was to go on the back of a harley, same with disabled people. friends overseas with trikes often do rides...one even managed to take the kids airpack on the back, lol.

I think dogs' reactions are more fun than kids'. I've tried to work out if it's only male dogs, or if female dogs are the same, but unless I actually stop & look I'll just keep guessing. Some dogs are blase about bikes & don't look, some keep walking & watch & some stop to look. And then you have the ones in trucks & cars. Some get totally intent on watching/barking at the bike.
I get plenty of waves from kids, but usually only the primary aged ones.
We were at a mx a while ago & one kid waved to me every time he went around (I was there flagging but couldn't help cheering him on). I think that was the cutest as he used his throttle hand to wave.

Yep it is normal, well for us cruiser riders anyway don't know bout you sprot bike riders...

Guaranteed every ride I go on through traffic or wander through a shopping area etc in my gear kids take notice, get excited and point me and the bike out to their folks or mates.

The underlying form of Cruisers just scream "MOTORCYCLE!" in a way other bikes can't.

Of course this is diammetrically opposed to the underlying form of sports bikes which scream "speed!". So each to their own....

Even had it happen to me for the short while I had the Savage. I pulled up to the Give Way and a cage + mum & kids go by. One kid in the back seat had his face mashed to the glass grinning at me and giving the thumbs up. He's garaunteed to be waiting for a mullet!

Yeah... I've had that a few times. Once a nice granny, about to get into her car started approaching, with me all in my leathers, and I though "Oh 'ello wots this gonna be about then?"

All she wanted to know was if her grandson could sit on the bike 'cause he was fascinated. So I said "yeah, of course" they both got a kick out of that, I went away feeling all warm & fuzzy and the image of the biker community was improved...Sweet!

I live right next to a school.

Every morning on pull out the drive and there is the school crossing.
most of the time its leather jacket on am work pants and boots.

all the kids at the crossing just stop and watch me take off. hear some of them saying stuff about bikes and look at the bike to each other. If the bike is warm will give abit of a handfull in first and the kids love it. The teachers on duty tend to give the od dirty look .

One time i pulled up to Church and this girl comes up to me and out of the blue goes my uncles bike is better than your bike and faster to i was like to you too.

I rode down a road one day and saw a line of school children walking hand in hand (as they do)...and the WHOLE SCHOOL of kids waved at me! Im pretty sure they werent waving at the Toyota Echo infront of me.

The number of times soccer mom has her kid in a SUV and the kid has his nosed pressed against the glass grinning and all I want to do is pop a wheely.

    Now THAT would be Awesome.
