They are policed - but ain't as profitable for the govt as most burglars are sorry broken-arsed losers whose biggest asset is their skid-marked boxer-shorts, as such the govt has not much chance of getting any money out of them.

'Course I have also already explained waaaayyy back on other threads about the cost to the govt of one burglary vs the cost of one injury crash.

    Goes up in 5km increments.

    1 to 10kph = $30
    11 to 15 = $80
    16 to 20 = $120
    21 to 25 = $170
    26 to 30 = $230
    31 to 35 = $300
    36 to 40 = $400
    41 to 45 = $510
    46 to 50 = $610

    51 to ?? = Lotsa walking.

Speed all you want, just be prepared to pay now and then.

yeah how do most of you treat that? say you saw the idiot doing it, would that be one of the few cases where you gave a ticket in the 1-10km/h bracket, or would it be more a careless/ dangerous driving charge?

What about only misbehave in the back of beyond and not on the main roads where the cops sit?
I know it sounds like a dumb ass idea but if I was a cop I'd go where the people are and where I could turn around easily, e.g., not State 22, Coro loop, wherever.
And it doesn’t always work, last speeding ticket I had was for 112 on a passing lane, while passing!
I see a lot of us (bike riders) sitting on the motorways etc at 130+, I personally don’t think its dangerous but I do thinks it expensive and just give them a firmer resolve to "Stick it to us"

If two cars hit at 100 kph each, all the occupants of both cars would be dead, if one car hit a wall at 200 kph, all the occupants would be dead. So same thing really isn’t it?

    I don't quite follow your wording,but I think you think....that 2 cars colliding at 100kph each makes a 200kph impact - wrong,it's 2 seperate 100kph collisions.

He means the science of the thing doesn't change the reality of the outcome. Equations mean squat when your arse just flew through the top of your head.

What I was trying to get at, should have said if two cars have a head on and are travelling at 100 kph each...

We did 400 k's around the middle of Northland today, saw stuff all speeders (apart from us, and we weren't too fast). But we did see an awful lot of jaffa wankers who don't travel faster than 30 km/h for 11 months of the year and can't cope with a corner if it's not at an intersection, then they get on the open raod and drive on the right at most corners.
Fuck 'em, who cares if the twats kill each other.

Give them a break, Snipes, they're timid wee things who cannot cope with the stresses of travelling at 100kmph in that teeny weeny single lane, what with the powerpoles "whiizzing by" on one side and the oncoming traffic thundering towards them so close on the other...

Of course, once they get to that nice wide two-lane bit they don't feel so cramped and vulnerable and can confidently speed up to the legal limit.

Please be kind to retarded cowards who're so nervous that just leaving the safety of their bed was a big ask, let alone travelling at the speed limit on that nasty ol' open road...

Either that or they're "Road Rage Facilitation Officers" employed by the government to incite people into fury at their retarded driving thus earning plenty of revenue for the govt's coffers once the insensed driver speeds up to pass...

Both theories get equal consideration when I encounter such people...

I'm pleased to see all the ticket writing is working so well.

Think they are revenue gathering now, wait till we go the way of Victoria where they have outsourced speed camera operation to private companies, then you won't be a ble to move. But at least in urban areas they have resonable speed limits 50 - 80 Ks but down to 40 around schools. Most people are very law abiding obviously the fines are steep.

Unfortunately, everyone is tarred with the same level of driving ability brush by the beareaucrats, so they want everyone to travel at those speeds on the highway as well! Have you seen those fucking wire barriers by Te Kauwhata on the edge of the road, as well as the centre - to stop twats running over the bank FFS!
So if you deviate from the straight and narrow at the lowest common denominator speed - you are fucked!
Sort of sums up the whole attitude to road safety!
I agree with Lou - Fuck 'em, who cares if the twats kill each other. - as long as I can keep clear by whatever means - and that includes going as fast as possible to keep clear of these Twats!

When they scrapped the 50 mph limit in the states, and replaced with , generally 70mph, death rates dropped by up to 20%, even in the States that had no upper limit!
