ACC levys ain't put up with stunts, its with crashes. Cops are just doing their job, pulling stunts wont make MOST of them hate bikers. Heck some even have a laugh about it (being secretly impresssed) while giving a ticket.

I can't relate to your last claim at all cause I would have thought, people would want to get in on the action after seeing all the excitment.

Anyway, its just different opinions I guess

What, because you can't get it up everyone that does is a wanker?

C'mon 'Bunny, each to their own.

Oh you speak with such eloquence Bunny...not

Any real biker is impressed by a well performed stunt, however in cases where others are endangered it is irresponsible. I'm not sure if in this case it was dangerous but rather foolish because the bike wasn't road worthy?

Probably very roadworthy - just not road legal!

Now, now, Ms Bondage thats not showing tolerance to others opinions and freedom of choice in entertainment. Wheelies don't put up ACC levies or insurance, thefts and crashes do. The ACC/LTSA stats have proven most bike crashes involve a car not seeing a bike - which means doing a wheelie makes you more visible and therefore safer. Shit hot, more weird logic to justify having fun. I haven't come across anyone who didn't enjoy the sight of a wheelie and after years of hanging with riders that wheelie I can't recall seeing anyone crash - apart from dirt bikes of course.

Food for thought BB. I guess b/c I'm such a newbie it does impress me but yeah you're kinda right that it's dangerous "on road".

Years(and years and years and years) ago I used to race a Z1 with every good bit you could buy including genuine Moriwaki F1 cams, Keihin smoothbores and basically everything. About twice a year I'd put the headlight and tail-light on and take it to Puhoi. Nothing electrical worked except the ignition. Two up it would effortlessly wheelie as I passed rows of cars. I had another Kawasaki 900 which was registered so used to fit that plate. Used to go on the back roads thru Helensville or Riverhead Road. It was very deceptive looking and a few GS1000 and CB900 riders had their egos dented when we blew past them two-up . All good fun but I think more people would frown on those antics nowadays, or maybe it's just that I move in less hoon-like circles now.

If it's good fun and doesn't hurt anybody, and isn't likely to, then it probably isn't worth getting too worried about.

What is it about wheelie's? It gets us all going one way or the other. A good wheelie always gets my attention. Last w/e a couple of us were heading to a rally. I was next to a mate on a Bussa, as we were leaving a 60kph zone into a 100kph. I looked at my mate, he looked back, we both had this stupid dumb grin on our faces.......well you know whats next. We wack the taps open the bussa edging forward so I biff it down a gear into 2nd and wack that tap open again and weeeeeeeeee heeeee up she comes (dident exepct it cos I havent had the VTR 1000 for that long) sat beside him for a wee while almost in the red (the gear change indercator ) before sitting it down again well of course the Bussa then rolled on from the idel and pissed of on me how thick do ya have to be to take a Bussa on BUT it had to be done aye, anyhow Suzy Q was behind us and she said it looked impresive to her (as she shakes her head)
    cheers DD

i'd have to guess that any bloke on an R1 racebike on the road probably doesn't have any intention of hanging around any cop whether he's popping a wheelstand or not. if he's got no plate then they have to catch him to prosecute and I'd put money on any litre race bike on slicks getting away!! (shouldn't own a bike like that if he can't blow off the HP with that sort of machinery advantge)
