    VT or VT

i know, i know these bikes are nothing like what i was looking for, but I'm starting to think something i dont mind falling off and is cheap is a better idea than getting an over priced sports 250

just wondering which of the two would you choose?, based on looks, reliability, speed etc

the first pic is the Honda VT 250 spada, and the second is the Honda VT.

so which one would you choose and why?

P.S: dont choose the spada because of the wicked red paint job. the one im thinking about is blue/green

Well what would you do? Run through the streets stark naked at 350 miles per hour with bells on your toes?

Spada is the better looking bike imo. Haven't ridden either horses, so cant comment other than that.

    Id go for the spada.

    1) No expensive fairings to replace if dropped.
    2) The other on looks like an oily seagull

Heres a spada on trademe which you have probably already seen.

Ask them the question though. If it is a typo good, if it has done 200,000 it is probably well past it use by date (unless it has been well reworked a couple of times).

Haven't ridden either, but had considered one for wifey to learn on - will keep an eye here to see how it truns out for you.

They were a great little bike. Unfortunately they came with an inbuilt handgrenade called "the big end bearing" (this is the reason my old one got pushed into a shed and left there after the piston started hammering the head). Any that are still alive will have at least had the bottom end sorted out and most likely been rebuilt at least once while they were at it. Don't know if they ever fixed the problem at the factory as I was onto a VFR400 soon after my early model VT expired.

My missus has a VTR-250 (actually Yank-Spec VT but still an FG model).

Great bike to ride, you can thrash and thrash them and they're still stone reliable. Top speed is around 170km/h but more importantly, gets up to 30km/l.
Definitely recommend one for learning on. If you get one, make sure you change the oil frequently. That's the secret to them lasting.
