    Green rep to Sensei

"Father Christmas" brought me an Ohlins shock for the Hornet.

Scott was aware of all the details because he recently aquired one for his GSXR and it was his glowing comments, and the fact that he advised me of the presence of the Ohlins on Trade Me, that lead to my aquiring it.

Somewhat lacking in the skyhook department I phoned the local dealer to enquire if I could get it fitted but they were too busy. Also, everytime I try to do anything major in the mechanical line I rediscover why I'm not a mechanic.

This morning Scott sent me a PM asking if I had received the shock, on receiving a reply in the affirmative he offered to fit it. This afternoon he did that very thing.

I just thought y'all should know that.

    Thanks again Scott.

I've only been for a coupla short rides but the difference is quite marked. To get the standard suspension to handle "flat" it was actually quite harsh. The Ohlins handles bumps with more aplomb but with even greater comfort. "Having your cake and eating it too" sort of sums it up

I'll go for a longer trip tomorrow over a variety of less than perfect roads at a range of velocities and get better aquainted.
