Just thought we would let you know that we are both ok. No broken bones or abrasions. Quasis leather gear did its job very well. Noel came to rest with a strainer post between his ribs but all is ok baring a few tender spots. Christine got up at the sceen and started running around to see if all were ok. She is feeling a tad achey this morning and has a very sore shoulder from rolling down the road but otherwise everything is in its right place.
The bike has lst all its fairings and is currently sitting up in Warkworth somewhere...

    What happend?
We were on the back road from Kaukop to Warkworth. You come out of one bend on to a slight down hill straight with a ridge across the road and the road steapens at the ridge and immediately bends right. Because it is a right hander on a down hill then the camber is not good and to boot it was covered with gravel. Come over the ridge at speed, saw the mess and jumped on the front break to scrub off as much speed as possible. I looked into the corner and started telling myself "get off the front break you bastard" but saw all the gravel and basically froze. Am not normally given to freezing up but didnt see an obvious way out of the situation in the short space available.

Thank you to all the people who stopped to help us out. Thank you for all the calls and texts. Thank you for all the kind thoughts and offers of help.

May be a little while before you see us back out there but we shall hopefully see you all soon. Will DEFINATELY have to catch up for the birthday drink some other time!!!

Sounds like a few Stiff drinks are in order for hum, er, - "Medicinal Purposes"

Good to hear it is largely bruising and nothing too serious.

One other thing that I found really spooky and you hear it a lot actually.
The ride started bad, to the point that I almost didn't want to go. I wont go into detail but you bury the thought and tell yourself not to be silly and just get on with it. What if aye?

Best if you imagine Twilight zone sound track in the background while you read that one...

Not good to hear. Too many bikers going down of late. Lets hope for a quick recovery.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

Bugger. I have said the very same thing. "Get off the breaks" Lucky I have, but the shingle is the pits. Well done. Take care and heal well.
