With my luck, the movie will be over in NZ by the time I get there, and only play for a week here, which will be while I'm in NZ! Hopefully the DVD will be available when I get there, if not will have to have it mailed by my brother.
    Cheers

It is a great movie. Get the book if you can't see the movie. The movie catches the passion of the man. The book gives you a lot of detail of what made Burt the man he was. Also a bit about what he did to the bikes he owned and what things he competed in. The book and the movie have different focus but together they complement each other. I have a few chapters to go in the book but I understand "WHY"

11 January 1978 Bert (Burt) died peacefully at home.
Everyone should read this book. Never again should any of us think life is to hard. Grit your teeth and work it out.
    What a man.
RIP Burt. You made a difference

Does anyone know what happened to the real bike(s)?
I remember seeing an old Indial that looked similar in the big hardware store in Invercargill.
A hall of a movie - should be Oscar material. Must have been an interesting guy, although hard to live with/ neighbouring

A collector has the frame in the states. The original engine was taken out and replaced with a similar one. Bert could not come to sell it. Suppose he put it in the second frame and continued to race it here in NZ. So with that in mind the person that purchased the Indian, here in NZ when he stopped riding( the second frame) probably has it. But this is only a guess as I do not know for sure. This is what I conclude from the book. It was putting out 6 times the power than when it was first made.

I heard an advert on the radio yesterday, saying the DVD is available at Dick Smiths Powerhouse stores for $29.95.

Right, off to do a purchase sometime soon...

    Cool

It is now available at video shops to hire as well now as "New releases".

I spotted the DVD for hire up at the video shop up at Westgate behind the shell petrol station on Saturday Night.

Or you could check out the Warehouse where they are $23.95. Went on general sale last Tuesday but have been rentable for some time.

    Arrow Hey all.

I purchased my copy of the DVD for $28 from the Warehouse last week. The lady even threw in a free poster to go with it.

The Warehouse has them on sale now for $26.86 (where DO they get their weird pricing from?) but I paid $26.95 at Whitcoulls last week and got a free black and white cap with the movie title printed on it. Bonus! And it goes towards my points at Whitcoulls so I get a $5 voucher for every $100 spent on books, cards, magazines, DVDs, etc.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
