    Angry Enough of the crashing

It has become blindingly obvious that there are more and more of us on the roads but as of late I keep seeing/hearing about the amount of accidents. Now don't (I repeat DON'T) take this as I am saying those that had the accidents deserve it or that they were riding badly enough to have the accident. Im saying that we should learn from what they have said about their accidents.

I have read each and every thread that has been put up about the accidents in the past couple of weeks and its sad that this is happening to the best of us. Most of us learn from experience but coming off a bike is a hell of a way to learn anything.

Read what the guys have to say and take care on the roads guys. The racetracks were built to attempt to stop us from buggering around too much on the open roads or at least take off that edge. Speeding around hills gives one a hell of an adrenaline buzz, but its farking dangerous and can be quite silly but hell, I have done it, but I have no intention of exceeding my bikes limits at the moment. I want to upgrade soon because the CBR has stopped scaring me, not because I want to attempt to become the next Rossi.

Stay safe out there guys, look after yourself and your bikes and remember those who love you. Never give up what you love and always ride to live, but always make your main goal getting home safe. This is not a blah blah blah we have to always stay safe, always wear your gears, never speed ect ect. Hell, I am admitting to being a bit of a hooligan at times too. But I think a few things of late have been to make my main goal to come home to my loved one.

    Take care out there guys.

NB: Im also not saying that we are all going to have an accident in the lifetime we ride either.
EDIT: Accidents happen, we can learn from them just some are avoidable and some are not.

That is one of the bests posts ive read in a long time well said rep givin.

theres no point going for it and pushing the limits if it kills you.

    ride safe aye guys

i mean ive seen people along tamaki drive going along the median through completely blind corners it's only going to take two at the same time and were gunna have a head on.

one of the reasons this forum is here is so we can give each other tips and learn from mistakes before we find out the pain of them first hand.

Meh. Crashes seem to be part of the whole biking experience Stu.

Best we can hope for is that crashees don't get hurt much, and that we all collectively learn from others experiences.

Remember there's a lot of motorcyclists here now, and you've got to expect a few offs and threads thereof.

If its any consolidation, I haven't crashed this year yet ...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

You take a chance getting up in the morning, crossing the street or sticking your face in a fan.

Very nicely put Stu. More than ever around this time of year - the silly season - we should be thinking about getting home in one piece, not trying to push the limits as far as we can take them. Heck, got a lot of biking to look forward to yet - why spoil the future for yourself and give the people who love you a shock visit from a somber police officer?

    More bling heading for Sniper.

    Cool

The very first thread tonight that I see when I got home was "CaN down today"

Slow the farken hell down guys and gals...

Ride at your own friggen pace and not anyone else's pace.

There has been too many accidents lately.. and just one too many dying on our roads....

I do not want to be attending a funeral of a fellow biker...

So take care out there on the roads....

How do you know if accidents are or are not caused by rider 'pace'?? Do you witness every single one? You reading too many of them Police Comms emails? You getting suckered into the whole LTSA 'speed' thing?

I think you should be more open minded about accidents.

Jandal [jan-duhl] noun: a mythical entity presiding over bikers
Jandal [jan-duhl] verb: "to jandal" is to involuntarily separate from one's boik.
Jandalled [jan-duhlled] past tense - usage: "bro, I've just gone and jandalled it"

EDIT: Yes I know that we risk our lives everyday when we get out of bed. Hell Im a prime example after last year breaking my nose, breaking 8 ribs, almost severing my finger and nearly electrocuting myself in a week.

Im saying that you should just stay safe on the roads

This is probably gonna sound all teenage like...

But if we wanted safety then wouldn't we all be driving cars with airbags and shit?

I don't ride a bike because it's safe, I ride it because it's faster than greased lightning and damn fun to ride.

Surely crashes are par for the course... anything you can walk away from is all good... anything worse, well, at least I can say I've lived.

Without 'pace' it's a shitload harder to crash - and a lot of crashes are created by riders over-'pacing' for their abilities or the circumstances.

My oops have come from not paying attention - never noticed greasy road, not clear enough view ahead etc.

    My 2 cents worth.
