What happens to bikes that are recovered, but arent claimed. Like do they auction them off?

In this case, nothing, who'd admit to owning it - surprised they reported it stolen, maybe it was insured for a surprisingly large amount!

Has this bike been recovered yet? I just saw one heading north around Mercer/Merimeri,it didn't look like he had on real deal bike gear,just some big flappy coat.I was heading south in the middle of the road works,I couldn't get out of the cones/cheese cutters until Hampton Downs,would of been pointless turning around and giving chase.
