    '99 Kawasaki ZX9R C2, FOR SALE!!

Today's a day that will live with me forever. I have finally decided to sell by beloved ZX9. I've had her since new, she's a full power UK model, has only 7,000km (just under 5,000 miles) on her and every one of them has been ridden by me. She's been to the WSB meet at Assen, all around the UK, but has had little use here in NZ. Needless to say she is immaculate - new tyres, new battery, and meticulously cleaned.

I'm changing allegiances - thought I might give enduro another go after 15 years off, particluarly now that I live in Kerikeri. If you're interested, get back to me, and if you've a KTM450/525 EXC for sale then likewise, I'd love to hear from you.

I brought it from the UK in 2000. I have owned it from brand new. To be honest, it's killing me to sell it. I've done every mile that it's turned and have really looked after it. I'll take some pics tomorrow in the sunshine so you can see it in all it's glory. It's metallic blue, I had a hugger fitted by the dealer when it was brought out of the box from new so even the shock's immaculate. I was running Bridgestone BT01's from new but fitted a dual compound BT02 on the rear for more life, with no sacrifice on cornering. I've just fitted a BT014 front (less than 100km ago) which is an awesome tyre and was developed to match the profile of both the 01's and the 02's. Not sure how much more I can tell you, but have a look at the pics and see what you think. Give me tuntil tomorrow (knock of work at lunchtime) to get the pics posted.

Well, seeing as I'd given the bike a polish with the missus' Mr sheen for the photos, it was gleaming. It would have been rude not to have gone out for a blast. Still learning the roads up here, but had a great run out to the Cavalli Islands and the on to the Whagaroa harbour, back to Kerikeri via Kaeo. Man, it's easy to forget how much power these sportsbikes have got...!

It's just about enough to make me want to keep her, however times change and the risks now outweigh the pleasures, now that I've got a little nipper to worry about. Don't get me started about the cops! I think Northland must have far and away the most police per head of population anywhere in NZ. There's no bugger here, and the cops are everywhere!!

So, still on the look out for a good enduro, although bumped into a guy yesterday who'd done the same - after no incidents on the roadbike, since he's been riding enduro he's had two broken shoulders and a broken leg! I ask ya, where's the logic...? who cares!

    zx9r

i have just bought a ZX9 and she is awesome. Had a problem with a false neutral but sorted it and could'nt be happier. I have owned a GSXR750 which came close but the R1 and The "blade" I owned in the UK did'nt even come close to the Ninja.
It must be gut renching to part with!

This auction finishes in a couple of days on Trade Me. Anyone got a competitive bid? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...n-43691284.htm

if you debaffle the factory pipe they give a great tone, and as mentioned with a little engine work you can get some kick arse figures out of the rear wheel

sexy bike, good luck with the sale

TO MAKE THEM GO GOOD YOU ONLY NEED TO PUT A FULL AKRAPOVIC ON IT AND AND 158 JETS , CLEAN THE STANDARD FILTER WELL AND LIGHTLY OIL WITH CRC 226 OR SIMILAR , MY C1 ZX9 BROKE EVEN WITH MY K2 GIXXER1000 TO 200 KMH .
IF STANDARD PIPE OR JUST A MUFFLER ON THE END JUST USE WASHERS TO RAISE THE NEEDLES ABOUT 1.5MM WITH THIS MINOR MOD ON A STANDARD PIPE I GOT 12 HP IN THE MIDRANGE AND 6 HP UP TOP

All good stuff, I just wish someone would buy it! I'm itching to go enduro an can't afford to do both. Auction has been relisted on trademe. I wish I had known about those minor mods a couple of years ago. Mind you, it's not like the 9's are short of power even when they're stock. I just love the way the motors are unburstable, and that airbox noise... I could go on...
