    interesting ride this morning...

Got up for work at 4am and it was raining. Bugger. Hate riding to work in the rain. Oh well, I thought, better get on with it.

I would have done better walking. Must have been about a 200mph crosswind and rain like you wouldn't believe. I was doing 70k and hanging off the bike just to keep it going in a striaght line. It was a very long 14k to work and by the time I got there I was drenched.

Fun commuting on a bike isn't it?

But you do it cause you love it right?
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Serves you right for getting up at such an ungodly hour of the day cowboyz!

Besides, wet & windy weather riding makes a man out of a mouse!

Or as the drill instructor used to say: "Character building you faggots and Faggotesses"
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I know. I tried going for that job that starts at 11am and finishes by lunch but they were all taken. Bugger really.

After the past few days I feeling more like a drowned rat rather than a man or mouse.

But you're in the Manawatu! Ya must be used to the wind up there - 200k cross winds are but a breeze for ya....
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
