Pah !!! Just like 'the ladies', you gotta show it who's boss. Or threaten to replace it with a Harley. piffft....cockies
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Yep, 250. The problem with mine was/is mostly the power not coming on smoothly. I don't notice it so much in the forest when you use bigger handfuls of throttle, but on road when you roll on the throttle coming out of a corner, it's nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing BANG! when it fires up, too much, too late!

Recently the idle speed was hanging up, but that was unusual and fixed with a service of the carb. Plus the needle was richened up, which has cleared much of the off-idle hesitation. It seems noticably stronger off the bottom and in the mid-range, but is well down on top end power.

It's got new throttle cables recently, too. I've had the tank off, lubed and routed the cables carefully, and still had the throttle sticking at times. I'd put this down to the grip dragging on the bar or hand guards.

Might require some further investigation! I'll probably be searching for some extra power via pipe/jetting/airbox, if only to retain the better low-down running while returing the top end. That's if I don't upgrade the whole thing via a trade-in.
    Cheers,
    Colin

Um...if'n yer just trail riding (no road), howsabout a KDX200/220?
Loverly trail bike, grunty enough (esp. the 220) to be n00b friendly, but with lots of top end.
