the oil light most often means the oil pressure isn't there.
If you keep riding it, it could be that you don't have any oil, or a substantial leak (which means you're about to loose your oil), and it won't get to the top of the engine, which will do a fair bit of buggerin.. stoopid yama

The BIG exception of course is if you are riding Kickahas bike... then all it means is that it is loosing slightly more oil than usual and perhaps you should ring the forementioned person...to which he will reply.."na...its all cool, its always doing that!"






ok so his is an oil pressure light as opposed to an oil level light, but still scares the fk outa ya! My virago used to bring up the oil level light as i headed up over Dyers pass road, sharp angle and that was nothing to worry about too.... so I'm buggered if i know which light i should be worried about?

From one who has had a bike seize thru lack of oil, I can TOTALLY symphathise mate but you live and learn, dont ignore that damn light
