Like the Rotovegas girl who insists her b/f could do Roto - Te Puke - Roto in 30mins including a 10min smoke stop???
Edit: and who then reds me for the above (He wasnt my b/f!! Think about it!! Rot airport-Tpuke averg speed 160k!! 10 mins.)Tui moment there
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Auckland to Hammy in one hour??

Yep, you can do it alright. Flat out on a reasonable bike with no cops,no radars, no dumb arse cagers and no thought of tomorrow. That was about 10 years ago of course.

About 10 years ago I left Wellington City at 3.00pm on a Friday night in a 1800 Sunbird Nissan which was regulated to 195kmh. Up the West side of the lake and back to home at Ramarama at Drury, I did it in 5 hours and ten minutes before all the diversions and sweet roads were upgraded, I was going for it and my arms were stiff as boards the next day. It was an awesome ride but I doubt you could do the same now and get away with it.

(PT)lol you must be a sad wee man to dis-believe that christ is only 55km from the centre of Rotorua to Te Puke if you can do that at slightly illegal speeds you shouldn't be riding . theres plenty of here on KB that could achieve those sort of times between different places easy:eyepoke:

No no of course it can. its had alot of work done to the motor and it is the fastest 250 he has ever ridden (can't argue that. its probably the only 250 hes ever ridden)

He went on to say that he is selling it anyway because it is not fast enough and is buying an 1988 Aprilla 600 for $2500 Dying to see that one...
Can you send us some pics. Btw rumour has it there's a VN1500, GB400, a couple of GSX600s and an RG150 who want to have a play with him .

Thank you. Didn't know the distance, but do know it CAN'T be done in 10 minutes. Unless my maths is REALLY out, I figure an average speed of 330kph is necessary. To all those nay-sayers....
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Not much point really. The reality is that if it is 55k, then.....
@55kph average it will take 1 hour....10 minutes is 1/6th of an hour so...necessary average speed = 55kph x6 to make 10 minute trip possible. Maths not being my strongest subject, if I'm wrong I will humbly admit it. But I don't think I'm wrong.

Well think about it. If you want to do 55kms in 10 minutes: 10 minutes is one sixth of an hour, so you have to multiply the distance travelled by 6 to get the average speed used to get there in that specific amount of time, and 55 x 6 = 330km/h.

Full credit to you if you can go that fast the whole way though

EDIT: Dam MSTRS, you beat me to it... at least we both know our math skills are top notch!

Yep....quicker on the keyboard than on the road. Can't argue with maths/physics. CBR600 nice quick bike but can't do 330kph+. GSXR1100 would struggle (a bit)

Im not trying to argue with maths or physics, the post I made that you brought up in this thread, happened in the late eighties and I was not riding. My friend was taking me for a hoon on his RZ500(or his RG500, he had both so I cant remember which one it was). As T.W.R. said it's 55 odd km from CENTRAL Rotorua to Te Puke town. Now we left from Rotokawa which is about 15km out of Rotorua CENTRAL! We stopped at a little place called Waitangi which is just out of Te Puke.(dont ask me how many km's 'cos I dont know) So the numbers do stack up. If you think I'm so full of shit come up here & I will put my money where my mouth is. (although I know I cant ride as fast as he could)

BTW can you tell me why god made so many nasty people in this world?

it reads as 20mins travel (30mins minus a 10min stop) 55km is easily possible in that time, I've done more than that myself (68km in 25mins ChCh to Chertsey pub which was a one off anger vent! and ChCh to Akaroa in sub 45min & thats 84km which was a regular saturday morning blast years ago) if the machines capable & the riders capable, its an easy achievement.

I keep inviting him on a ride but he wont. I tell you though.. If he did show up for a ride then there would be no speed limit and my poor little bike would be wound out. And then it would be like.. "we ride like that all the time, why can't you keep up?"
