Yeah, 55k one way.. then you gotta get back again. that makes 110k in 20mins. that makes the 300+k average speed so you would probably want to be topping out about 350-360 to allow for the slowing for the tighter corners and turning round and the like.

Then obviously your claim of Rotovegas - Te Puke is flawed and was misleading to us mere mortals. I know people who claim to have done Napier - Taupo in 45 minutes. This is a distance of approx. 145kms. What they did do was the Napier-Taupo Rd turnoff to the lakefront. That is a distance of about 115kms tops. Big difference.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

No. I referred only to a claim that I recalled was made that I don't think is possible. This thread is about people who make all sorts of claims re. their bike's speeds etc. I don't know why you seem to think I have 'got it in for you'. NOT SO. No need to be so sensitive or defensive. No disrepect is/was intended.

In which case I can go from Hastings District to Taupo District in a split sec.....I only need to travel the length of a signpost!!! If you were less generalistic in your original post (ie said what you meant) then I (and others) would have had nothing to *work with*

Describe how you like. I choose to view it as saying what I mean, and being accurate in what I say.
